NextEra Energy Wins NHBCA Award for Seacoast Rep Theatre Support

Seacoast Repertory Theatre Of Portsmouth, NH, is pleased to announce that one of its primary sponsors for over 10 years, NextEra Energy, was awarded a New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts Award at its annual gala dinner on May 17, 2010, in Manchester, NH.

The New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts (NHBCA) was founded in 1984 and presents the awards annually to recognize and honor outstanding business support of the arts. The NHBCA was founded to educate, motivate and recognize business support of and participation in the arts.

All of this year's winners were commended for their outstanding support of the arts through sponsorships, staff involvement, project assistance and donated services to the arts in their communities and statewide. NextEra Energy was singled out for their support of the Seacoast Repertory Theatre's annual fund raiser and mainstage productions as well as for assisting the Rep with start-up funds needed after its acquisition of the Mill Pond Center in Durham, NH. The Center is now being used for expanded educational and performing arts programming for the region.

As a not-for-profit arts and educational organization, Seacoast Repertory Theatre relies on the support of civic-minded corporations such as NextEra Energy to help keep its ticket prices reasonable and tuitions affordable, making theatrical productions and youth programs accessible to everyone in the region.
