In an article about Xanadu's closing, Variety mentions that a limited holiday engagement of Slava's Snowshow is likely for the Helen Hayes. Link below. Slava next at Helen Hayes?
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
Didn't Slava's Snowshow play Off Broadway in Union Sq for a while? Why are they bringing it to Broadway?
"If you try to shag my husband while I am still alive, I will shove the art of motorcycle maintenance up your rancid little Cu**. That's a good dear"
Tom Stoppard's Rock N Roll
Its a truly amazing piece of theatre, funny, moving and spectacular The show has played all over the world for many years now. It did play Off Broadway for a very successful season- maybe two?
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
This did play Off-Broadway for a very long time, went away, and then came back again for a long time.
They were giving away tickets like candy.
But with the right marketing, a short run at the Hayes may work.

"Snow" seemed to be falling off of me for 2 days after I saw it! The evening a group of us went, we went for cocktails after the show and left a trail of "snow" through the bar on the way to the patio. It was quite funny. Everyone was wondering why this stuff was falling out of our clothes. We had second row center seats.

I saw it with a group of friends several seasons ago and was amazed. None of us really knew what we were in for except for the snow shower, but were glad we decided to spend that afternoon at the Union Square. It is truly a beautiful experience. It would be nice to see it return. (And, yeah, there was "snow" in the car for weeks after!)
To piggyback off of Eug, one of the friends who I went with had just gotten back from a year in Russia working on her doctoral dissertation and said it was even better than a lot of what she has seen while abroad. Again, it is truly most impressive and moving.
OMG. I hope they don't bring this show to Broadway. I hated that show. If that is what is coming to Broadway count me out.
I went to that show in my best suit as I had meetings earlier in the day and it was ruined. The Producers of that show need to warn people in advance that the audience will be drowned in fake snow. They ruined my suit and I should have sent them a bill for the expensive dry cleaning bill.
Not worth a cent in my opinion. Keep good theater alive and don't make Broadway a circus.
If your idea of fun is being drowned in fake snow then it is for you. It was one of the worst experiences at the theater of my life. Yeah, I hated it that much. It made Suzanne Somers look good.
