Also, if anyone has ideas for a 16-year-old mezzo, I would eternally be in your debt. :]

One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

It was awesome.

Any suggestions for a high-baritone? I'll probabaly just send an email, and go to the NYC open calls.

There aren't really any parts for baritones in the show, so I would suggest singing as a high a song as you can that still sounds comfortable in your range.

I auditoned at the NY open call back in April and they are looking for rockish songs or folky. I sang 'I Don't Wanna Be' by Gavin Degraw and I know a lot of people brought their own instruments and such and were able to play original material. My friend sang 'Chariot' by Gavin Degraw and a I know I was told by someone they are sick of Beatles songs, so I don't know.

I'd say try a few different songs before picking your final. I know I went through a ton of options before landing on what I chose. Best of luck to you! It's a great experience!

They have the Beatles catalouge as a back up or something.
I don't know, I've heard conflicting reports.
Perhaps they do.

If you are what they are looking for....it doesn't really matter what you sing. You need to find what shows off your strengths.
