Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson
I actually found this year to be not only entertaining, but quite correct in general as far as the awards go. I agreed with most all of the play wins. I was glad to see that the AUSUST sweep still left some room for other plays to be recognized (BOEING-BOEING, 39 STEPS, THE SEAFARER.) The SOUTH PACIFIC craze was a little much, but none of its awards were undeserved. Honestly, there were only 3 awards I disagree with (XANADU should have had book; CRY-BABY should have had choreography; Daniel Evans should be a Tony winner.)
it was kind of weird/boring this season. whats with all of the winners notes??? even patti lupone!!! but im SUCH a RENThead so i was like seriously shaking until the RENT performance
Omg how freakin HAlarious is Clinton Kelly from WNTW????
The Tonys are a joke, the oscars are a joke, the emmys and grammys are a joke, and so are the SAG awards.
Now the MTV Movie awards are the highlight of any award ceremony either that or a marathon of "30 something" with Geico commercials inbetween

"Tonies"? "Toney's"? That's almost as bad as "Tony's"!
I thought this was the most enjoyable awards show I've seen in a long time. Whoopie was a wonderful host - making the show move along at a quick pace, without ever really feeling rushed. The performances were about as good as you can get, considering the fact that those casts are given only a couple of chances to get rehearsals in with the new blocking required for that big stage.
And PJ - for me it wasn't the company because I was watching it by myself.
On the other hand - maybe it was the company...

Hm. You've all given me a feast for thought. Why have I come to be so critical of the art form I claim to love? Maybe I have been in the wrong company (my own) too long.
You might see less of me while I ponder these points.
