Nicole Kidman is tuning up for a film based on the life of British pop singer Dusty Springfield for Fox 2000. Kidman will produce and star in the project, which will reunite the actress with scribe Michael Cunningham, who penned the novel "The Hours." Cunningham is currently writing the Springfield screenplay.
And this bit here.....
Universal is developing its own Dusty Springfield biopic with Kristin Chenoweth attached to star. That project is being written and directed by Jessica Sharzer
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I'd rather see Chenoweth do her over-the-top theater mannerisms on film than Botoxed Kidman be zzz.
"[Gore] was widely perceived as arrogant. If you know something, you're not smart. You're a smarty-pants. It's annoying. People get annoyed with your knowledge. It goes back to high school, to not doing your homework ... 'There's something I should know, I don't know why I should know it but someone knows it and I don't. So I'm going to have to make fun of him now.'"
-Sarah Vowell, The Partly-Cloudy Patriot
La Chenoweth as Dusty Springfield was ALWAYS a hilarious idea -- Dusty was statuesque and sung in a husky soulful voice... both of which La Chenoweth doesn't possess.
If there is anyone she was born to play is Dolly Parton. The look; the voice; the height -- she IS Dolly Parton without even stretching.

CurtainPullDowner & rosscoe(au) - I've now listened to MP3 tracks. - I knew the name before, but I guess I never heard her stuff. Quite a voice! Thanks for the intro.
Hollywood has messed up a few of these bio pics. One example was overlooking Beverly D'Angelo when they did Patsy Cline. She was excellent as Patsy in Coal Miner's Daughter.
As far as Cheno goes, she is in no way Dusty Springfield. Not only is the singing voice wrong (Cheno is too legit) but the speaking voice is wrong. Her speaking voice is squeaky.
They'd do better to go with Rene Zellwegger as Dusty and have her lip synch the songs. Look at the picture Brody posted--spitting image of Rene.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
Let's see: Dusty was gay, was a cutter (she cut herself on her arms hence rarely were her arms bare), hated her legs (hence the long gowns and rarely performed in slacks), loved big stringy arrangements, died young and had troubles with substances shall we say?
Well, hell. Ho-hum. Who wasn't, didn't and hasn't?
What I would like to see is Dusty being accepted by the US Motown acts as an equal (she sometimes sang as a Vandella with 'Martha Reeves and the...' off-stage on a mike and the audience never knew) and promoting the groups like mad in the UK. So many of the early R+B-soul acts have praised Dusty for opening international frontiers for them. And she did this basically by herself at least until others caught on.
Can't you see a bottle-blonde English girl of Irish lineage singing back-up for Heat Wave and Quicksand wearing a gown at 10:00 a.m. in full drag make-up? That's entertainment!
"If my life weren't funny, it would just be true. And that would be unacceptable."
--Carrie Fisher
I remember when this was first announced and they had a pic of Chen as Dusty in a magazine and she looked almost identical. I think Chen will be way better as Dusty then Kidman, but kidman is and Oscar winning movie star so chen will probably get the shaft.
