I saw Jake and some of the other people from The Battery's Down perform 'This is Your Life' at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on Saturday night. They were SO good! I can't wait for the new episode to be up at midnight tonight!
the new May 1st episode is by far the worst one! They should just end this show because each month it just gets worse! The 1st episode was the best. It had the best music. It is now just turning into..."Look at me I am Jake Wilson and look at how many Broadway stars I can get on my show!". Lame. I am done watching.
I still don't understand why, with all his connections, he doesn't have a job? Can anyone explain that? I mean, he could easily be a Hairspray council member at least! Geeze I would love to have his friends!
Was the third episode the one with the little kid?
Just want to make sure I'm caught up.

I wish there was some sort of arc or character development or something. The show is so over the top I don't really feel for any of the characters/people and each week it's the same thing: Jake, with the help of some Broadway cameos, fails at musical theatre.
I wish the first episode was the last. It brought tears to my eyes it was so inspiring. Now the show is just sort of lame.
I feel like I just wasted the last 20 minutes of my life watching this. I liked the first episode, but I'm liking it less and less each time I watch it.

I haven't watched this one yet, but I agree that it has gone downhill since the first episode. I'm considering not watching this one. I hope they(he) get(s) it together!

Ok thank you all y'all- I thought I was the only one who wasn't getting this!! The first episode was super fantastic- "this is your life" IS my life- but I've been having to force thru watching them since then. The one with the kid last month literally made me cringe, and this month I finally quit watching before the episode was over, and only pushed thru watching as much of it as I did because I wanted to see Sarah Saltzberg. I never knew a trip to Vegas could be so unfunny.
I agree it's been going downhill which makes me really sad. However I did rather love the song at the beginning of epi four; it has virtually nothing to do with the rest of the episode..but eh.
Hmm. Resurrecting this because episode 5 premieres at midnight and I'm re-watching all the episodes so far...
I think that "Natural" (the first song) summarizes the episode, in a sense. The song is basically, "Ditch all of these 'lucky' objects, because I don't need them." and at the very end of the song (the funeral), he is techically buried alive. (?) It sends us the message that his luck has run out. In the episode, he gets the job in Vegas, but then he gets into everything and gets fired. It was also a dream sequence, so maybe it was a prophetic dream? That's how I'm going to connect it with the episode as a whole.
