By "flops" I mean shows that didn't run more than a couple of months or so.
"In My Life" was PAINFUL to sit through. By this I mean because I felt so sorry for the actors, the audience laughing uproariously at totally inappropriate chunks throughout the show. Those actors commited so hard to what they were doing, but that material was just...insane.
I also saw My Favorite Year 12 years ago (give or take) and loved Andrea Martin, that's really all I remember from that show...
Lucifer's Child with Julie Harris was a bore as well.

Yes, In My Life sucked. Sucked very much.
But it still rates as one of the most entertaining experiences I've ever spent in the theater. What was entertaining? The fact that it was one of the most well thought-out pieces of crap shows in the history of pieces of crap shows. Joe Brooks knew exactly what he wanted and, unlike many other shows where there's a lot of in-fighting, he got it, since he wrote, directed, and probably produced it.
What else have I seen? High Fidelity, Dracula, Lennon, Pirate Queen, Elvis People, Barefoot in the Park (with Amanda Peet), Ring of Fire, Lestat, Hot Feet, Wedding Singer, Caine Mutiny (with David Schwimmer), Tarzan, Brooklyn, Good Vibrations, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...the list goes on.
The only one I missed, and I regret it so much...Blonde in the Thunderbird.

BROOKLYN (My best friend's family treated me to the show)
La Cage aux Folles (1004 Revival) (Gary and Daniel were really, really good - from what I can remember of it)
Mimi le Duck (I thought Annie and Eartha carried the piece)
Evil Dead (I loved it, but yeah...)
How to Save ... 90 Minutes (Comp. tickets I won)
The Pirate Queen (Comp. tickets I won)
DEUCE (Front row I got for less than $50 a pop - Only for Angelia Lansbury, of course - Weak material, good laughs)

Coram Boy. I absolutely loved it. And if we're counting Grey Gardens, that, too. 
Oh, and Deuce. I enjoyed the ladies, hated the show.

I agree about High Fidelity, millie.
I am happy that I got to see Lestat, Good Vibrations, Pirate Queen, and Deuce (just for the opportunity to see Lansbury live).
The rest of the flops I have seen I could have done without.

Well, "Grey Gardens" was a financial flop I loved.
"Chita Rivera; The Dancer's Life" wasn't exactly a hit either. In fact, I think it has one of the shortest runs in a while.

Posted: 8/25/07 at 11:44pmIf two months is your benchmark, some shows mentioned here don't fit that criteria. "Brooklyn" ran just under three months, the "La Cage aux Folles" revival ran for over six months and the "Sweeney Todd" revival ran for ten months.
