hey okay have a chance to see a regional production of Evita.....the tickets are 40$ each.....I would have to travel 3.5 hours to get to the theatre, and I would have to miss a day of work; would it be worth the trip and the money to go see it!? Those of you who saw it.....did you enjoy it. I went to amazon.com andlistened to liek 30sec of allthe songs and I am borderline. It could either be really really good, or it could be horrible. Thoughts?

If you're asking for thoughts on the production, you might want to say which one it is.

well...everytime we are seeing a show, we are taking a risk, we might love it or hate it! but if you don't go, you will regret it, because even if you go and you hate it. You saw it. I paid 60 bucks to see the national tour of Evita and i am glad i saw it. It's a must see!

I not only encourage you to see the show, but to learn how to spell as well.

What's with this thread? Has it become the home for wayward spellers?

Liam, where are you?

You should see it to build your own opinion. Not just because people tell you to see it or not to see the show.

Sassypanz...the current cast where? I don't think he/she was talking about the national tour.

And muscle23 has the right idea...even if the show isn't good, at least you've become familiar with another show and you know one day you'll probaby see a better production!

If you've never seen it before then, no matter what the consensus of the board is you should really go see it. I love it and I've been taught to hate ALW.

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

You should definitely go see it. If it's great, you should come back here and tell us all about it. If it stinks, then you really have to come back and tell us all about it. If you're talking about the current tour, I just saw it this past Wednesday and was blown away by it. Even though every single principle performer did something to annoy the p*** out of me, it still never detracted from my overall enjoyment of the production itself, and I'd travel 3.5 hours to see it again.

I would see it, but I would also wish Patti LuPone were in it.

EVITA is my all-time favorite musical. With that said, i saw a brilliant production of it. EVITA can be absolutely appaling (sp?) if it is done badly. Moreso than other productions done poorly-if EVITA is done bad- it is BAADDD. I would to see it if i were you-the music is amazing.

Agreed 1000000%. This is what I tell my friends every time one of them asks about Evita. When it's good, it's great, but man, when it's bad, it's BADDDDD.

Saying that, you can ask for opinions and you'll get opinions ranging the spectrum. So my answer is, go see it if you want to.

I am an unabashed ALW hater. But even I will tell you that "Evita" is a must see show. Like these people have so eloquently stated (and no, I'm not being sarcastic, just in case, lol), you really should see it to form your own opinion. Even if you hate it, it will be better than not having seen it at all.

I saw a horrid production of Evita in Detroit years ago, and a wonderful one in Munich around 1997.
It just depends. Of course go see it.

But, whoever said it's the best "rock musical ever written" must not get out much, as I find (musically) JC-Superstar, RENT, Miss Saigon, The Beautiful Game, and Bright Lights, Big City far superior.......but that's just my opinion.
