Not surprised, but wow!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Would the reconfiguration back to how it was last through the spring, or do the shuberts have another show coming in? I could totally see them just letting it sit empty until spring 2025; It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done it.

Have to wonder what their fortunes would have been had they waited to open in the Fall. This Summer was a case study in when not to bring in a new show, so hoping producers take heed of that moving forward. Only Back to The Future, a HUGE IP with built in fanbase has any shot at longevity, and even that could wobble easily.

I knew about this about two hours ago and wasn’t able to buy tickets online. Once I was able to get through, they jacked up all the prices on the floor at least $65.

I’m so mad.

If the Shuberts wanna bring the London Guys & Dolls over, they now have the opportunity to reuse the immersive set. Obviously, it would need some adjustments for a completely different show, but it would be nice to keep that theatre in an immersive staging.

This should’ve been kept as an off-broadway show with off-broadway contracts. I would’ve loved to see them use the space that was formerly the liberty theatre and turn it into a disco space and run the show similar to how sleep no more does it.

I don't think Fall would have made any difference. It needed to open in March or April, right before the Tonys and tourist season, which might have buoyed it to a better (if still not profitable) run.

Too bad they couldn’t find their audience…..

Not sure if Spike Lee committed to filming it, but that was the hope.

If I had to guess, the reconfiguration will take less than 2 months including a break at Christmas/New Years. So it could absolutely be ready for a spring tenant.

I will once again pitch that the West End GUYS & DOLLS should jump on The Broadway, pay HLL to keep some of the reconfiguration in place, and open this spring. Which is unlikely to happen for a multitude of reasons.

What a huge financial flop this ended up being. Such a shame.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Won't be missed! Time to move on with a different show for the Broadway theater

Same, same. Can't make it out for a final show.

I loved this show but what an example of poor producing. Do we think it will be remembered come Tonys time, or will it just be too crowded of a season?

I’m shocked this even made it past Labor Day. I loved this show but it was pretty much DOA.

The theatre was way big for this show. Hope they turn it back to normal and not put Guys and Dolls in there. Glad Ruthie made the right choice.

FYI code HLPARTY still works on Telecharge Offers for the final performance.

Almost like spending money to redesign an entire theater for a show with no name recognition outside New York and then trying to cut costs by not paying musicians was a bad idea. Who would have thought?

I've seen the show twice.  Both times in the mezzanine.  When I heard they were closing, I felt bad for them and wanted to see if I can get tickets to see the show one more time from the floor before it closed.  And then I saw the jacked up price. I don't feel as bad any more and I can live with just having seen this show twice.  I can understand them wanting to get every little last dollar from this production, but the increased ticket prices are only hurting the true fans of the show who've seen this multiple times.  They are certainly not getting any new patrons to the show at this point.

I wonder why they felt the need to open in the summer anyway. They should have waited until the spring and get all the hype and awards. I do wonder if the optics on the show have changed a ton too.

At least this won’t be the costliest flop of the Broadway season?

Was just there another visit Saturday night --- when waiting outside pre-show for the doors to open, overheard the front of house staff say they were pleasantly shocked, that " for the fourth time this week, tonight's show is completely sold out".  The floor was packed.  I am shocked........ had hopefully thought this was finally getting legs.......

Sadly just bought floor tickets for the final performance HERE LIES LOVE closing November 26

I have to assume this will at least get a best set design nod when the Tonys come around.

I'm sad I won't be in town for the last show, I would've loved to be on that dance floor.
