As expected. I think this will do well in amateur/community theaters

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Ironically, I've lost the lottery countless times. There are hundreds of unsold tickets every performance so I don't know how I keep losing. Maybe I will just purchase the cheapest seat online and move down.

The lottery was oddly hard to win and also the lack of in-person rush wasn’t helping.

Even at a discount, they could’ve still pushed more seats for money, and instead papered the hell out of the show.

I think opening in the summer was a foolish move, especially on the heels of Bad Cinderella flopping and & Juliet getting an armful of Tony nods.

Does anyone know how much this was capitalized for and the LLC its filed under?

I really enjoyed some of the music, but truly, casting killed this one.

Again, not good for major investors to be burning their money on shows that flop like this.

I’m not surprised by this whatsoever. With those poor sales, it was only a matter of time before they would close. Yet another show at the Marquis bites the dust! I really hope they can find a show to put in there that can last.

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

I'm pretty sure Britney doesn't care what happens to this show lol.

I think the biggest problem is it came so soon after & Juliet and was seen as an inferior version of that show.

I do think it'll be popular on the amateur circuit.

Felt like an Off Broadway show playing a huge Broadway house. Now it can make it's rounds through schools - which is where it will be more successful.

She really has no connection to the show other than songs she performed ( written by other people) and a tacit acknowledgement the producers could use her name to promote it.

Out of everything rumored to be coming in this season-- Water For Elephants is really the only larger show I can think of that would even consider that house

I think THE WIZ will end up at the Marquis in the spring. Just guessing.

Guess there's really no demand to hear Britney songs 20 years later.

Waiting for that Taylor Swift musical in 20 years.

I was so hoping this show would do well. For me, it was just a really fun evening out at the theater. While not perfect I liked the book and performances. And that choreography was a lot of fun to watch. I even danced at the end and waved my bracelet.

Just give the world Love.

If they are banking on amateur and/or regional productions of this, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t.

There’s always demand for Britney classics. This show is just weak, starting with the title and marketing.

I agree- having seen it in DC, the story was weak, even if though the music and dancing made it fun.  It looks like they tried to add more bells and whistles for broadway (light up arm bands- an odd choice, and even more choreo) but going up against & Juliet that is so similar just a better story and production, I don't think they stood a chance.  I'd see & Juliet again but really wasn't interested in seeing this one again.

Do we think Come Fall in Love and Hercules are off the table for the Marquis?? Aren’t they both big shows??

Betty Boop the Musical screams flop, might as well send it to the Marquis, where shows go to die.

Hercules would be SWALLOWED by the Marquis. It already seemed a little small when it was in Paper Mill (which is 1200 seats compared to the Marquis’ 1600+) and the set pieces already were overblown.

I'm a little surprised no-one has nabbed (or announced acquisition of) the licensing rights to this and & Juliet yet. You'd think MTI or Broadway Licensing would snatch them right up.
