Yes, with further consideration, I really did like the show but had reservations about it.

On a sad note, my friend and I went for dinner after the show and realized that we are among a small handful of the '72 production who are still around. A sobering fact, for sure.

At yesterday's matinee the orchestra section was packed but when I looked up to the mezz, I saw the middle section was full however the two sides were so empty you could have played kickball in them

Somewhat off-topic (and spoilerish for "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" ): Interesting use of Richard Burton's "How to Handle a Woman" in the new episode. I'm not quite sure how it was supposed to apply to the situation -- it didn't fit either Gordon/Hedy or Gordon/Midge -- but I liked hearing it, anyhow!

Saw this beautiful play last Wednesday during the matinee when Lea Michele called out for COVID. We were all pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the light comedy. Pippa Soo was also out, but her standby was solid. Jordan is the star and Burnap was also impressive. Overall, I'd give it 3 out of 4 stars.

I really enjoyed the show recently. I know this isn't the huge South Pacific or The King and I revival it perhaps intended to be but there are so many things working here. The orchestra, lighting, sound and costumes are absolutely exquisite. Phillipa Soo is always perfect, but never exciting. Andrew Burnap was bland and basically White Boy #489384939 for me. Jordan Donica (the only actor in this cast who deserved a Tony nomination) is a goddamn star. He was a star when he opened his mouth as Freddy and now an even bigger one as Lancelot. A thrilling performer.

It was a lovely evening but it's Lincoln Center, so that's almost a given considering the gorgeous location.

I was hospitalized or convalesing through MY FAIR LADY'S run. Did Donica have that much hair when he played Freddy?

Agree with you on Philipa Soo. She sings perfectly but just doesn’t quite feel joyful like when Julie Andrews sings it. I think it’s more of a directoral choice, in making their relations more adversarial than joyous.

No, the show is scheduled to close on Sept. 3 unless they announce an extension soon.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

As the show is selling most of its tickets at the TKTS Booth, and now on TDF, I doubt that it will extend beyond Sept.

I went last night (Saturday eve) with lotto seats. They were perfect. Row G Seats 406 & 407. The extreme side orchestra were empty, but the loge was full.

Lots of understudies.

Christian Gibbs on for Jordan Donica (The one person I wanted to see, but Mr. Gibbs was wonderful)

Ann Sanders on for Marilee Talkington - This may have been her first time on as the cast applauded her loudly.

and 5 ensemble members out using all swings in split tracks. But you would never know.

I'm sorry I was not a fan of Ms. Soo looking extremely bored for 3 hours, yet sounding beautiful. The same expression was glued to her face the entire show. Mr. Burnap gave it the good old college try but was just not believable as a leader to me. I honestly thought Mr. Gibbs was the best of the three, so I can only imagine what Jordan does in the role. Ann Sanders did a great job with the tiny role of Morgan Le Fey. That is the best I can do. I did like how big the stage was and the use of projections. The ending was.....what the heck was it??

What about the ending? Did they change the ending?

Got great seats through lottery. Show was flat and  disappointing except for Phillipa Soo. Even most of the songs  fell flat and these are some of our favorite Broadway songs ever. On the other hand' we saw My Fair Lady six times,

I was at the Saturday matinee and Ann Sanders was on for Marilee as well. And Christian Gibbs as Lancelot. The only person who got entrance applause was Phillipa Soo.

Finally get to post my thoughts!  Caught the show mid April, and absolutely loved it.  The new book didn't bother me, and in fact while trying to think what I liked about it, I thought that the concept was a bit "Downton Abbey"  Especially Phillipa Soo who reminded me more than once of Lady Mary --- in her character arc.  From appearing to be uncaring to finally showing her warmth as a person -- she did remind me of Lady Mary.  I found Soo to be quite the tragedienne.  I will not soon forget her noble bearing, especially in the final scenes.  Her facial expressions conveyed it all to me .  Musically I thought the show was great.  Everyone was in great voice.  I was impressed by Burnap, Donica, and I thought that Trensch was a very intense Morded. Donica, especially, gave a lesson in "bel canto" -- his solos were gorgeous. I also enjoyed the stage groupings, dances, and stage settings.  I know the show very well having done a few weeks of it some years ago in regional theater.  I found this a fine staging of the work, and the folks around me were quite moved.  Lots of sniffling if not outright crying at the end.  My only criticism (and several have mentioned it) was the boy at the end.   I felt that he was a bit of a let down.  But perhaps by now he has grown into the part.  I was so glad that I saw this --- and it remains very often in my thoughts.

I thought the same thing about the boy in the end. Perhaps he has worked more with the director. The staging was stilted as well. The production over all was solid but not extraordinary in any way. I still am in the Burnap camp and am sorry I missed his Tony winning performance.

Not for nuthin' but the young man who plays the boy at the end is a student of one of the regular posters here at BWW.

Saw this tonight and overall enjoyed it. Is it something I would rush back to know, however, it was still an enjoyable evening at the theater. I had never seen some thing at Lincoln Center, so that alone was worth the evening out. I was surprised to see a number of people leave at intermission, and as others have said, the loge was definitely not full. I’m not quite sure why Guinevere is being played in a way that makes her seem cold and I wasn’t a fan of her tone and way of speaking, but Pippa was very good in what she was given and I’m guessing the things I didn’t like were directing choices. I struggled to believe that Lancelot and Guinevere actually liked each other and I don’t really feel the chemistry between Jordan and Pippa. I thought Burnap was good, but again I feel it was a directing choice that I didn’t like. I felt there wasn’t really a connection between the three leads as characters, and it kind of felt like a play, showing it from each of their angles, and it was almost as if it was three separate plays.

I definitely enjoyed the evening out and I’m glad I went, and to hear that orchestra in that space was a delight, but if friends were to ask me to recommend a show for them to see want to New York, this probably wouldn’t be it

I don't believe it has been discussed, but no one thinks Sorkin is going to try a "To Kill a Mockingbird", and try to have this be the licensed version of Camelot, right? lol

Does anyone know what happened to Andrew Burnap last night? He seemed fine in Act I, but was replaced by his u/s after intermission.
