I think Charity is great (though it genuinely seems like what she does is just not at all appreciated by Ru and the judges much at all) but that Scarlet is... fine.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
Disappointed in the queen they sent home this week. I also thought it was odd that Ru mentioned Choriza May having a "meaty tuck." It came out of left field. Had to go back and watch the past episodes and I don't see it.
"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter."
Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.
I’m bored with this season and this episode epitomizes why. It’s the same challenge we’ve seen done two dozen times. When Ru says there was no originality there, she needs to look in the mirror. There’s like 40 seasons of this show and every season has the exact same challenges, altered ever so slightly but still the same.
And if you want some “originality” maybe give them more than 45 minutes to come up with this sh*t. No wonder it’s not “cohesive” - they don’t even have time to decide what they’re wearing much less write and direct a skit that shows each of their talents off.
I was also rooting for Charity - the most original of that “type” of drag since Sharon Needles but I was getting bored of the full prosthetics every week. I wish we could have seen more of her but the second they started playing the lipsync song, it was obvious who they wanted to stay.
I feel like since we are living in a world where the contestants are such producers themselves that now the actual producers are like “How do we make more drama? I know give them less than an hour!” And it comes across as sloppy and rushed from a production side more than drama for the contestants.
Watching this weeks ep now. Why doesn’t Ru just assign characters to the Queens ahead of time? This whole “No, I don’t like that do this person instead” is annoying.
Is anyone listening to Race Chaser? At first I didn’t believe Willam when she said UK3 was filmed in 10 days but apparently it’s true?! If so, that is genuinely wild and explains why this season feels so generic and rushed.
I thought that was one of the most overall solid Snatch Games in a long time though. Ella and Kitty were clearly the tops, but no one crashed and burned. I’m glad to see those two in particular start to shine as more of the girls get eliminated and the original frontrunners start to wilt a little bit.
Kind of surprised Vanity Milan has stayed this long. She has yet to impress in any way. I would’ve put her in the bottom instead of either Choriza or River.

The more I think about it, and maybe this is just me showing my age, but a Crystal win would be a little depressing. I know that drag is all about dressing up and becoming someone new, but to have a 19 year old who had already gone under the knife like that. Meanwhile you have Kitty who is whip smart, gets the references, and turns the looks? She creates the illusion with her natural beauty. Well I am firmly in Kitty's Camp.
At this point, barring some insane 180 she pulls in the next couple episodes, there’s no way Crystal wins this season. Her early wins have more than proven to be flukes, and the judges are finally calling out how limited her other abilities are.
Krystal just doesn't do it for me, either. I mean, on hand, it's awesome that a 19 year old is so self-possessed, and has a world in which they can pursue drag at the highest level. On the other hand, she seems like a copy of a copy of copy of queens that have come before her... but in, like, the last five years (Aquaria, Violet Chachki, etc)...and she clearly has money, because how else could a 19 year old be able to afford these clothes and the surgery? I prefer my queens to have some grit and some self-made element to them.

How Vanity made it to the top and Choriza did not is beyond me. But I hope Kitty wins. She's got personality for days and I'd see/watch/listen to whatever she does next.
