Does anyone know if Telsey & Company has re-opened and if so, what is their new name and where are they now located?

How strange...I just looked up the website, and it said the domain isn't in use or anything. How weird!! I wonder what's going on. Maybe they're doing a massive overhaul of the website and such? Interesting....

I have no idea what's going on with their online presence, but my S.O. is an actor, and recently submitted for an audition for a new show that Telsey was listed as the casting company for. Super weird that they've scrubbed their social media and website.

This has been discussed elsewhere on this board already, but I believe like many others in this (and every) industry, the company is going through some Covid-related restructuring and revamping. Like a lot of producers, general managers, midsize talent agencies etc. that closed up shop or have moved out of their offices last year to save money, and like the shows themselves that are all pursuing different specific avenues to get back on their feet, Telsey is simply now finding its own path to move on and rebrand post-pandemic.

I believe the new official company name is Bernard Telsey Casting, Inc. but could be wrong. I also hear they are aggressively exploring ways to expand and diversify their roster of casting directors as they restart and restaff. Someone else mentioned this temporary confusion might be necessary so they could legally terminate their lease (which had to be ridiculously expensive even before the shutdown, situated as it is in that huge and, I’m sure for the past year, now virtually empty Times Square office building.) But nothing nefarious is going on; just another company doing what it needs to do, and what is advisable and possible, to survive nearly a year and a half of almost no work. With 30 shows having announced plans in the past week to open or reopen this fall, by the spring I’m sure the company will be back at full force as they were before 2020.

There were rumors of bankruptcy, but nothing has publicly come out yet.

Bankruptcies are, by definition, public. So "rumors" (especially when time has passed as it has) are not meaningful and "yet" is meaningless. I have no idea why they restructured, but there are many possibilities.
