The public was overwhelmingly in favor of Trump’s order to close the border during the Pandemic. The Courts agreed that the border could be closed. None-the-less, Biden decided to open the border to families with young children and to unaccompanied minors. (75% of unaccompanied minors are between ages 15 and 17.)

There have been people waiting at the border until it re-opened, but Biden’s decision has spurred tens of thousands of additional people to come here and ask for asylum.

Why would it be safe to place them in shelters that are operating at full capacity, if it is unsafe for schools, restaurants, and businesses to operate at full capacity?

Even if the families and unaccompanied minors test negative for the virus, it could be in their systems and not show up for 10 - 14 days. They could be exposing each other, and then exposing the general public once they are released.

Biden needs to again close the border until the Pandemic has wound down.

I think new adults and families coming to the border are being expelled, its the minors that's the issue.  I don't understand why the administration doesn't return them to their home countries.

Add to this co vid infected individuals who are not vaccinated. It has been reported 4 people on a terrorism watch list were spotted casing various entry points on the border. Homeowners are going to protect their homes and families

Biden.Already promised them free healthcare while citizens struggle to pay for theirs. They will put a strain on our already burdened healthcar system. Ditto for where they would find housing and how they would pay for all of this and their food needs

It is one godly mess which helps no.one but the Mexican cartels

They need to secure the Mexican southern border so that people aren’t making the dangerous journey through Mexico.

It's Namo with an M Not Nano with an N

Cuz Nano with an N is teeny tiny

Namo with an M is a Mean Green Mutha from Inner Space

Roxy saying I brought the topic of race to a thread about "the border crisis" proves his point, that some things never change, all right. Roxy always be Roxying.

And yes, I am saying BLM "does not deal with terrorist tactics." But you wouldn't be the first white guy to think black people's civil disobedience is terrorism.  Now let's talk about Christopher Wray's assertion that white male nationalists and militias are THE NUMBER ONE DOMESTIC TERROR THREAT facing the United States today. Let's PLEASE talk about that before they kill us all.

Agreed with Namo.

I understand the issues but I guess I don’t see much solution? How can you turn away a bunch of unaccompanied minors that are trying to flee an unsafe environment? Aren’t we meant to be a melting pot of cultures and beliefs?

And no one speaks of Cruz vacationing in Cancun and then condemning Mexico?

The four men on here who won't speak of Ted Cruz's sociopathic behavior are DannyChicago/Roxy/Yankee and the extra abhorrent JGPR2. They also won't condemn the white terrorists storming the Capitol. Just crickets on that one yet last summer they were "horrified" by the "violence" of BLM protests. They also will casually defend child rapists/rapists/racists and the entire GOP/KKK members in DC.

I mean, as long as all those people are white men, of course.

the numbers are only going to grow.  If this reaches record highs, the gop/media is going to go ballistic. Biden is getting low marks on immigration.  this threatens democrats majorities in the midterms. They need to go back to title 42 for minors until they reform the asylum system.

The SNL sketch concerning the Vice President was spot on. Everyone will probably be talking about the border long after I am gone. Seems like the strategy is to fix the problems within the countries they are coming from. Good luck with that. Perhaps when Kamala has solved the border problem she can work on getting Puerto Rico on its feet. Another issue that will be talked about long after they have thrown my ashes in Central Park. Just saying...complex problems....

You’re worrying about the midterms now? Hell Biden hasn’t even hit his 100 days in office yet. It’s way too soon to focus on anything as it relates to the midterms. And, we’re talking about the GOP here. I can assure you, if they don’t get up in arms over this when the time comes, I’m sure they’ll think of something. Either by blowing up something that is beyond minor or pulling something out of thin air. Or, there’s a chance of both. Regardless, you’re focusing on something that need not be worried over now.

I disagree, during the 2018 midterms we were talking about the Muslim ban, Supreme Court judges, attempted aca repeal and other things that happened in the first 100 days of trump. The tone for the rest of the presidency is set in the first 100 days and biden is now seen as having an open border policy which is not popular and gives the republicans something to run against in 2022.

It may not be true, but that is how it "is seen." Someday truth will be the hot new trend.

Roxy, who has yet to utter a single sentence on here about January 6th and who threw his hands up at the prospect of getting the Covid vaccine because it’s “not worth it” because of who was running NY government, has no moral authority on anything.

A bunch of coming to age Central Americans have come to our border.  Let's take them in, they make better citizens than the white racist losers that currently wield authority.  I Say bring them all in.

I know on the right they name everything the opposite of what it is, but really shouldn't the Right to Life crowd be organizing efforts to treat human beings at the border as if they have the right to survive?

I recall reading an article on the subject that mentioned how there have been many families who would be more than happy to foster and/or adopt these children. Makes more sense to me than keeping them in holding.
