Another one to the list! The musical will stream for charity, with a small donation required.

I saw this live, and while I don't understand how DHP could ever win the Tony over Raul in this role (maybe Jason Manford wasn't any where near as good as DHP), it was an entertaining evening.

The fact that yet ANOTHER West End production is being streamed continues to frustrate me. I feel sorry for the actors & creatives involved in Broadway productions who never get to showcase their work to a wider audience because of (among other things), counterproductive labour laws/unions. Wake up and realise you're doing more harm than good to your constitutes!

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Does anybody know if the stream will be available for a certain time after the initial live stream? Don't think I can make it at that time.

I believe it is just the livestream, but they haven't released much information on this yet.

Don't feel too sorry for them, they have a MUCH stronger union that ensures all parties involved are compensated fairly for any kind of recordings. My friend works at LCT and says anything recorded is a nightmare to work out and honestly needs to be in contracts before a show even starts, but they are working on more NTLive type models to make it possible.

And David won because it was a charming, warm, funny, old fashioned song and dance performance. He wasn't giving us anything new or mind-shattering but he such a throw back in a great way. Raul gave a very dark loud and angry performance and not enough people liked that production. I'm not dissing either because I remember I would have been happy either way but it was definitely an "apples vs oranges" types of performances.

I agree. I would have been happy either way.  Hyde Pierce gave an incredible performance as did Esparza.

It is perfectly fine the unions are "strong" and take care of their members. But the fact is, Broadway productions can not be filmed and released and that hurts the whole industry, and the actors, in the long run. After a show closes, who is going to remember these great performances? That weekly paycheck is nice, but what is going to guarantee these actors their next job? I'm not saying they should release past shows from the archives, but these streaming rights should be in the original contracts everyone signs.

Has anyone in the US been able to pay for it? My cards have been declined and am wondering if that is the issue.

I paid for it a few days ago but used the PayPal option and had no issue.

Hmm. Well, one of my credit cards apparently went through as I got a confirmation email. Here's to hoping it works out fine when they start streaming. Thanks!

All I saw was a "Starting in 15 mins" screen and then it disappeared and now there's nothing to click on to watch.

DHP was so lovable in the role it's not surprising the Tony voters loved him!

So glad I was able to see that show again! It's such a fun show and a joy to watch. Though, I preferred the original production...

You're never going to beat the OBC for Curtains - even the supporting cast were stars. But for a UK tour it was phenomenal, they even built a replica of the proscenium of the Colonial Theatre Boston for no other reason than they could!
