Netflix viewers watch a variety of television series. Although I watch Big Shot, Disney, a show related to basketball. Besides having a passion for basketball, I also help my friend run a blog about basketball
A commentator on CNBC said that Netflix needs to up the quality of their movies. They said that any movie with a red N is usually not worth watching. I tend to agree for the most part. The series seem to fare better.
Decided to start watching "The Movies That Made Us" today. Chose to start with the Jurassic Park "episode". I lasted about 15 minutes and bailed on it. Just don't care for the format. And the "narrator" is annoying. Would rather see a more straight up documentary style show as opposed to this quick cut semi sarcastic humor injected style.
I caught two episodes of The Chair and think the acting is great but story lacking as I was a bit bored. Loved Holland Taylor’s scene at the Title IX office!
Just about finished Maid and it has felt as though I have seen a good play each night this week. I wake up thinking about many of the characters and their plight. Excellent character study and terrific performances by Margaret Qualley and Anika Noni Rose. Filmed in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Stay Close is an excellent binge watch, guessing till the end they up to you what 'the persons' decision will be. I know what I would do.
and of course Emily in Paris is a delight. Silly, girly, questionable fashion, delicious French men and food I can taste through my TV....Season 3 please.
Sex Education opened my eyes to the lives of 16/17 year olds. It's a wonder that any study was done. All the kids did was fcuk. I was so innocent. The writing and acting from everyone is this series was excellent. I saw Asa recently on an interview program and he is maturing into quite a unique personality[dish!].
I just binged Season 4 of Cobra Kai, the Karate Kid sequel series. It's definitely not high art, but it's charming, a lot of fun, and there's some really good stunt choreography.
I plan to watch Ozark this season, since Katrina Lenk has a recurring role. She is one of my favorite actresses and I am not able to see her in Company. I saw a preview and it looks like it will be easy to follow. It also looks great!
It seems impossible to say that Mike Flanagan has done the damn thing yet again, but with Midnight Mass, a project that the writer-director describes as his most personal and longest-running plan in the works, he's probably crafted the closest thing to an original magnum opus. Like his previous adaptations of Hill House and Bly Manor, there are plenty of monsters to provide frights, but similarly, there's just as much emotional heartbreak wrapped up in the human story, not to mention characters who can be as terrifying as any ghost or as menacing as any vampire.
