Just got an email about Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus coming in its first production off the Broadway stage to Albuquerque in January/February 2020. It's with Fusion company which I think is currently Albuquerque's only equity theater.
Also loved it on Bway but partly because it was so lavishly produced and designed. Not sure it would hit the bullseye for me without that elaborate set by Santo Loquasto.

100% agree with this.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
Very excited to see this get a second life so fast for flopping as hard as it did. Loved the production and hope to see more regional productions in the future.
I would be shocked if parts of the original set, at least the corpses with practical effects, weren't preserved to rent out to high profile regional productions like this one. Like the puppets they rent out for Little Shop around the country.
I think this play was unjustly panned by most people and actually think it could be quite popular around the country at the more forward thinking regional houses.
Sitting in Junior's restaurant two Sundays ago I watched as the stage door of the Booth Theatre opened and a man waiting outside was handed two of the dummy corpses. It was around 5 p.m.I was at my break between Pt.I and II of Harry Potter. I had seen Gary twice when it played last season and it was well done.
