I just won the lottery to see Frozen tomorrow. I have to show my ID to get the tickets; however, I am just under eighteen and I just read that I need to be at least eighteen to enter. I will be going with a family member who is over eighteen, but I have to show my ID since I was the one who won the tickets. Do you think they’ll care? Should I bother buying the tickets?

I think it depends, are you 17 or are you like 14? If you are close enough to 18 (or can pass as 18), I don't think they will care. From my experience with show ID for tickets (lotteries, student rush, etc.), they really just try to match the picture/name to the person. Then again, it might depend on how attentive the people at the St. James box office are.

I just won the Mean Girls lottery on Tuesday. When I showed up to the box office, they didn't even ask for my ID (or check it when I took it out on my own accord and offered it up). They just asked my last name and gave it to me without any furthwr questions.

Though this can of course vary based on venue, or who happens to be at the box office at the time. I've won two other lotteries that weren't Lucky Seat, and neither asked for my ID either.

Either way, as the above said, I doubt you'll have much trouble as long as you aren't 15 and under, or something.

You're 17. You should be fine.

Thank you, everyone! I decided not to buy the tickets just in case (I also look younger than I actually am, so I wanted to play it safe) but somehow the family member who is over eighteen won the lottery for Frozen tomorrow, so we will be going then!

Although the lottery is definitely fun, the rules are made for a reason. There is a legal requirement for us to only award tickets to adults over the age of 18 - otherwise, we could get in trouble!

Please keep the lottery secure and fair for everyone and only enter if you are over the age of 18.
