I can't believe how childish some of the responses are in this thread. I didn't see this posted but Deadline does a brief recap each week of Broadway grosses. Maybe they have it in for Tootsie as well but as others have stated here. Facts are Facts.

Inexplicably struggling was the terrifically funny Tootsie, taking in $918,350, an impressive number at first glance but only 56% of its potential at the Marquis. Even with a modest-for-musicals average ticket price of $90, Tootsie hovered at Beetlejuicelevels despite Tootsie‘s slightly larger theater size and better reviewsBeetlejuice grossed $1,001,783, filling 92% of seats at the Winter Garden.

Speaking of a show that isn't Tootsie, I'm very interest in Betrayal. Will Tom Hiddleston sell? Has been a little up and down during previews but they seem to always be above 60%. Id say good reviews with a name and not too crowded field for plays this summer, Betrayal could be a small hit. Easy sell too id think especially compared to The Great Society which seems to require prior viewing of All The Way, and a 2 part play in The Inheritance.

Not sure about how well Betrayal is selling but I’m seeing it tomorrow! I’m really looking forward to it I’ve only heard good things.

Enjoy the show! Because of new jobs I haven't been able to purchase yet, but I'm planning to attend. Hiddleston is a really great actor, and being tied to the MCU he can be used as a selling point. If this does well I hope we see more of him on Broadway.

I couldn't give a fxxz if a show opens or closes. If it is good and sells--what does that mean? And if it doesn't? Out of our hands baby !

So it doesn"t matter about my OPINION[ but fun to speculate/bitch/argue/get deleted] it's the money men who will decide for us all-end of story.

You tell 'em luv!

Thank you!! I got one of those $25 potentially partial view seats, but I’m still excited.

So many on this board talk about weekly sales, and whether a show will close or not One of the highest correlations to a show closing or staying open is that of advanced ticket sales I don’t see anyone on this thread, talk about that as a relates to speculating on which show closes Does anyone know the advance ticket sales for shows mentioned on this thread ?
