Hmmm...I am not familiar with the oeuvre of this Taylor Seoft, but it's got to be better than anything by Taylor Swift.

This guy knows what's up!! I'd love a trimmed down version of the Metropolis suite -- trim some fat, throw in a few new songs to fit the plot, change some stuff around. These albums aside, I'd kill to see Monae in anything on Broadway. Now that she's making the transition into film (and really made a name of herself with Hidden Figures and Moonlight), I think she's getting some name recognition that would make producers take a chance on her to sell some tickets. Let's just hope she's in something better than Chicago...

Another great concept album which could make a Broadway musical is Carly Simon's "Letters Never Sent" - an album she made in the mid- 90s, shortly after her mother and friend Jackie O died. Simon found a box of letters packed away in a box -letters she had written to people over the years but 'never sent' (the title track /intro). It would make a great musical - as 'each' character comes on stage and moves her 'life story' along.

Not necessarily an album, but I think Pink has some songs that could be fantastic in a musical. Either that or I'd like to see her write songs for a show. She's fantastic at telling stories in song.

If I'm not mistaken, she has written a rock musical. Last I heard they were doing readings. I think this was in 2015, maybe?

Regarding Janelle Monae's Metropolis suite, she did say years ago that she wanted to bring it to Broadway. Who knows, maybe someday.

If I was a producer with big bucks, I would immediately have contacted Taylor Swift for 1989. "She lost him, but she found herself, and somehow that was everything" is the basic plot of many decent musicals. With Swift's music and fanbase, it could run forever, no matter if it is terrible.

I know Bowie already got utilized with Lazarus as the OP said, but I think The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars would be the most incredible stage show. The story is all there, it's very dramatic, and it has a rock-opera feel. If a musical started with "Five Years"

Joanne by Lady Gaga would be a beautiful show, if I'm honest. The themes of loss, family, nostalgia, and just life itself are solid themes for shows as is, but Gaga's lyrics and songs definitely help elevate them from common themes to something personal. It could be a beautiful gem of a show if it's done correctly, and with care.

Spent a little time yesterday listening to a few older albums by "of Montreal" and there are a few solid ones. "Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies", "The Gay Parade", "Satanic Panic in the Attic", and "Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?" all have very strong concept and through-line, and could be made into musicals with a bit of editing. The last of which could really work in a Hedwig style, with a Georgie Fruit transformation in the middle.
My go-to answer for this has always been Hadestown, but that's been happening already.

There's already Sunny Afternoon which uses a lot of the songs, but Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround would be AMAZING as a musical

I know "Tommy" was made into a musical but why not "Quadrophenia" which I personally think is a better album. I am not a fan of Beyonce but her album "Lemonade" might work in the times we live in today.

This one kinda sorta happened. Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls went back to her high school to help stage an adaptation of Aeroplane called With the Needle That Sings in Her Heart, combining the album with elements of Anne Frank's internment at Bergen-Belsen. And there's video of it. Also, an NPR article about it.
