It was a lottery! I will be there and hope to go to the event across the street as well.
So very clearly Hadestown. I'm still amazed at how well they were able to capture the power and energy of Amber Gray and I'm forever thankful we have the performances of Andre De Shields and Patrick Page preserved so well.
Those three voices are some of the most unique voices today and it cannot have been an easy feat to get them.
Taylor Swift Musical? Nov 25

If she wants to, she will. She’s quite talented in crafting stories and working metaphors into her work. All Too Well, Haunted, Daylight, and Death By A Thousand Cuts show some of her skills that I think would transfer.

yes. It doesn’t deserve to beat Hadestown, IMO, but it is quite good.

So the theory fans had worked for the main categories, but not the “unimportant” ones. Even so, the Hadestown cast recording is SO GOOD.

If you go by what everyone else is saying about the nominations count (if they are right and Lizzo gets 8, Taylor Swift gets 3, etc) then Hadestown didn’t get nominated which I find...very hard to believe.

Pretty sure they are friends and it was said in jest.
I can't say for certain if this impacted it (but it may have) - there was a slight snag on funds relating back to the cast album. I doubt it made a huge impact, but it certainly may have.

Yes! Congratulations to this dedicated cast and crew.
Wow. What a time to be a woman and a fan of Broadway.

I’ve won Hadestown twice. From what I’ve been able to tell, they do not have a set amount or even any lottery tickets nightly. It is whatever didn’t sell.

Saw this the other day - to school what has been said, Peter is absolutely impressive as an actor and his singing wasn’t bad. I was also impressed with Blake Jenner, who gives a fine performance.
I’m unsure how Grace McLean isn’t a huge star.
Jasmine Cephas Jones is so beautiful and so talented, but she felt miscast here.
Not Nominated / Should Have Won Oct 27

Reeve Carney for Hadestown Ben Walker for American Psycho Amber Gray for The Great Comet (in my mind she should have 2 Tony awards)
Darren Criss Headed back to Broadway!? Oct 24

Could Hedwig finally be going to the West End? I know I’m in the minority, but I thought his Hedwig performance was quite something

I’m working on a theory that he’s doing either something on the West End or the 1776 revival.
