To get this thread back to the original topic - this kind of stuff is exactly why I’m tired of not only this board, but of society in general.
I go to theater so I don’t have to think about what is going on - that our president is a rapist and a criminal. That politicians want to take my rights away. For three hours, i could focus on artistry and beauty on stage. .
And for a while, I could get that here as well. I could argue about whether or not Idina was ac
Is it time for a mass exodus from Broadway World? May 10

So now there have been two threads where someone has not only made people on this board uncomfortable but who has gone out of their way to bring it up because the old thread was locked.
Racism is racism is racism. And “hearing them out so you know where they stand” isn’t the answer. When you give even one a platform, it allows others to see they are not alone.

The censorship with Patti Muringate lost us some of the best and now the refusal to delete posts with microagressions...this place is not what it was.
We've lately been having a bit of a discussion on the board on what can and cannot be said. Our users want more transparency on our end on why things are deleted.
While the opinions posted here absolutely do not necessarilyreflect my views or the views of the site and our team - we have to respect the fact that our users are entitled to them.
If we were to censorall opinions we don't agree with as a site, t
I cannot BELIEVE that a website like this would even think of allowing a thread like this, a thread filled with BLATANT racism and gaslighting, whole threads about silly Broadway drama like a Spongebob stagedooring stalker or Patti Murin’s sensitivity are deleted.
As a person of color, as a woman of color, as a human being, I am appalled and frankly if this is the type of environment BroadwayWorld and the m

I think it’s hilarious how those who don’t like TBV are labeled as “stupid,” or “shallow,” or “you just didn’t get it!”
I got it even though I had a very long blink toward the latter half. It’s not that hard to “get.” Art is subjective and just because someone doesn’t agree with you on something subjective, that doesn’t make them wrong.

Yet Great Comet walked away with nearly no awards last year, and instead the award went to the most cookie cutter musical of the year?"

A different cast, a better director, and someone willing to tell Disney they need some edge.
I think Caissie is a massive talent but both Elsa and Anna read so old on that stage - especially Patti, who reads at least 5 years older than Caissie.
Reflecting on Alex Newell not getting the Tony nom May 7

If the award was for “Best performance of a song by a featured actor” he’d win. However, to compare what he does to what Grey Henson or Gavin Lee does every night (singing, acting, dancing, reacting etc) - it becomes clear why he wasn’t nominated. He’s present for maybe 5 minutes and then he seems almost bored and definitely thinks to highly of himself. Compared to Lea, who acts from the tips of her toes to the top of her head in every moment, it is abysmal.
My guess here is that Cursed Child focused only on getting tickets to Tony voters and not to every voter for every award there is - it's not like they need any awards.
RANDOM QUEEN IN KINKY BOOTS - YOU GET A TONY! DANCING ANCHOVIES - YOU GET A TONY! PERSON CLUB DANCING IN GREAT COMET - YOU GET A TONY....
The only situations I see this working well are in rare cases like Come From Away where no one is a "lead" and everyone has about equal time. And then they all have to deserve a Tony...
Eliminate a show for me. Apr 9

Three Tall Women isn’t my favorite show, but it has some performances for the ages.
I’d eliminate Frozen - the movie is better and it’ll stick around for a while.
So let’s say Brandon, John, and Sara all get nominate for Emmys for this...where would they be nominated? I really want to see Sara and Brandon especially get some recognition for a job well done.
