Hmm, what I learned at the matinee today is that Euan is a messy kisser, and you can spank him while he's kissing you... I think I was wearing half of Hedwig's makeup after that.

Just saw the show in Philly.  I have been excited to get to see this as I have seen it a good deal.  I first saw it on Jane St.  Then I saw NPH and MCH and JCM.   I was very excited to see Euan Morton as I loved him in Taboo.  I was very disappoint when I got to the theater and Euan was out.  Many people were talking about having to see an understudy as the reviews in the Philly media all said how great Euan was in the role.  I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Mason Alexander Park.  He seemed to have won the audience over after the first 15 minutes.  He was very good.  The show is in great shape and band was excellent as always.  I thought Hannah was excellent as Yitzhak.

Anyone else surprised we haven't seen any B-Roll from this production?  The Broadway version never had B-Roll either which I always found rather odd.  Anyone know why this is?

I'm hoping to see the tour in Boston. Does anyone know if the tour usually does lottery or rush tickets? Also, how important is it to be closer to the stage? Would balcony or back mezz be not really worth it for my first time seeing the show or ok? It'll be in the Shubert Theater here if anyone is familiar with that one.

I'm pretty sure rush policies for touring shows are set by theaters, not productions--so you should check directly with the theater. In Philly, they offered rush for every performance.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I think it's pretty important to be as close to the stage as possible. This is a show made up of lots of "asides" and ad libs. The one at Jane St. was able to very intimate, so there were no bad seats in the entire  house.

When was this? I caught the Saturday matinee, and Euan was amazing.

Euan was out for the Sunday evening performance in Philly, as well as the Sunday evening performance in Charlotte the previous week. I wonder if he's started taking the Sunday evening show off for more rest?

This was Sunday night.  And you are correct he missed the last show of the previous stop and the last show of the Philly stop

I was visiting Philly last weekend and saw Euan in the role on Saturday night. I don't have as much "Hedwig experience" as many of you, having only seen Darren Criss in the role in NYC, and the film, of course. However, it was interesting to me to see Euan's take on the role, especially since he is a bit older than Darren. I thought he did a great job and I was really impressed with his voice - it sounded very strong to me. I did think his movements were a bit slower/more restrained than Darren's but that worked for the character, IMO. I thought his ad-libs were great - he made comments about some people arriving late and he also took a cell phone from someone in the front row who was apparently texting and turned that into a running joke (maybe he does that at every show, but it was funny.)

The one part where I did like Darren's work a little more was at the end during "Midnight Radio" - somehow I found Darren to be more intense, more emotional during this part.

The Philly audience reaction was interesting - I was sitting mid-orchestra and everyone around me lifted up their hands, which kind of surprised me because the reactions had been pretty muted up to then (for example when Hedwig put the wig on Yitzhak's head - yes, I also thought Hannah was fantastic- there was only a smattering of applause.) Some people around me seemed bothered by the strobe lighting effects. But I didn't see any walk-outs!

I will say the reaction of the crowd was very reserved mostly during the show but at the end with the wig transfer the audience erupted in applause.  The ovation was extremely strong and everyone was standing.

I will say strobe lights normally do not bother me.  The Broadway productions I saw it did not bother me.  Last night it was rather bothersome.

I have a row B, side orchestra aisle seat for sale for this Saturday's matinee in New Brunswick, if anyone is interested. High carwash potential. LMK.

Can someone address the situation on Sunday performances because my wife is flying up specifically to see Euan next Sunday and she will be heartbroken.

Well, as I don't think there's a show next Sunday according to the show's site, idk which Sunday you actually mean lol. If you mean this Sunday the 21st, since they appear to have a week off before Boston, it's unlikely he'd take off a show to rest. If you mean the Sunday show in Boston on the 4th, who knows? He seems to be making it enough of a habit to worry he would but since it'd be the middle of the Boston run, and not quite the same as the previous one week engagements where he took off the last show...idk.

EDIT

and I forgot to say, but it's pretty unlikely to get a definite answer either way until the day of the show. Unless someone on here sees it and stagedoors in the next couple days and is lucky enough to get a definitive answer straight from Euan/cast.

Is the tour definitely ending after the D.C. stop?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Only one proper JCM carwash. And a messy kiss from Euan that left my face smeared with makeup in Philly. I'd be in NJ Saturday were it not for a family wedding... HEDWIG TOUR

I got the Euan kiss tonight in Schenectady.  That was a whole lot of face coming at you. Still getting the makeup and glitter off. He was absolutely terrific!

I kind of wish this would go non-union as this is my DREAM ROLE, but I can't see this playing to smaller houses.
