WOW!! That's an amazing cast. I hope they all transfer over to Broadway in the spring.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Between this and KINKY BOOTS, I'm thrilled to see Haven Burton getting the recognition she deserves. She's a comedic genius. And what can be bad about a vehicle for Lillias White? It's about time.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
I love that this cast is attached to a new musical too, and not a revival. It's fantastic when new shows are able (and willing) to get an ensemble of great actors like this one.

adamgreer, I think Haven is technically filling in for Jeanna de Waal again. When Haven leaves to do GOTTA DANCE in Chicago, Jeanna will just be coming back from doing WAITRESS in Boston. I believe the plan is then for Jeanna to return to KINKY BOOTS until WAITRESS (inevitably) transfers to Broadway in the spring, probably around the same time GOTTA DANCE hopes to.
The timing worked out pretty ideally for everyone involved. If GOTTA DANCE doesn't come in right away, Haven could presumably just go right back to KINKY BOOTS when Jeanna leaves permanently.

Haven really was a wonderful Elle and have loved her in every other role she's covered. She has a really lovely voice and I agree, is very funny. It would be so wonderful to get to see her have a chance to take part in a show front and center from the start.
Haven is a comedic genius! She's also an incredible dramatic actor. Her take on Violet was so heartbreaking. I'm so glad she (might be) originating a lead role on Broadway! And with Lillias?! Amazing amazing casting. Thank goodness for Jerry Mitchell. What a God sent. I wonder who'll be taking over Lauren after Haven! With Jeanna tapped for "Waitress", it would be amazing if they gave it to Ellyn Marsh full time. Time will tell, but I'm so excited. This upcoming season is going to be astonishing.
They/them.
