I'm sure the answer to this question is on here somewhere. But, how does it work? I see it on Today Tix. When do you find out if you have won and what time do they start taking entries? I work for an airline and have a looong NYC overnight in a week or so. Would be nice to get into a show for $20! Are there service fees if you win?
I won two Saturdays ago for the 8 p.m. show. It helps if you tweet and Facebook that you entered. They let you know between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show. No fees, just the $20 per tickets. My seats were in the rear orchestra, row Q. Fine view.
There was no service charge for me-- I just won on Christmas (I entered the lottery plus posted to FB and Twitter). I used somebody's code, and got a $20 discount. Two tickets for $20 in Orchestra Row A. It is the best deal on Broadway. And of the four shows that I saw last week, I thought it was the best.
I won the lottery for the matinee today (finally shared on FB and finally won). I used a referral code so the ticket was free (by the way, if anyone needs a code mine is NTFBG). My seat was in row Q but the 2 rows ahead of me were empty so I moved up. Great view, amazing show.
Yes, definitely agree to share on Facebook or Twitter. I forgot to use a code, because the app was acting up and I was afraid I would lose the tickets. But I was really happy to get $20 seats. A fun night out at the theater, great production! I wish more shows would use the Today Tix app for lotteries.
I think that would vary day to day, depending on availability. But yes, I do recall something coming up on the app where you could buy tickets for that performance. How discounted those seats are, I don't know.
Finally won the lotto (was planning to do TKTS...) and finally saw this amazing production yesterday! I'll not echo what others have said, but merely say Sher needs to do AMAZING work with The King and I to best On the Town for best revival.
Fantastic seats for the lotto, by the way. Happy to see the orchestra heavily sold.
I won the lotto for today's performance (first time entering!!). My seat in row Q, with a great view. I received notification that I won at almost exactly at 11am. I used a referral code and paid nothing for my ticket. It was a good afternoon and a fun performance!
Is TodayTix still running the lottery? On the app it says tickets and lottery in red under On the Town but when I've tried to do the lottery in the last few days, the only links at the page are to buy tickets. I tried the lottery before but the link with the dice isn't there anymore. I know the show still isn't selling that well. Have they just given up the lottery anyway?
To VintageSnarker: I was having the same trouble with the app. I emailed Todays Tix and they replied quickly that the Lottery App was having problems. I believe it's fixed now.
The lottery isn't there all the time somehow. When I entered Fun Home shortly after midnight yesterday On The Town wasn't available but it was then in the late morning I believe.
