The cast won't be up for a while, unfortunately. And I honestly don't expect Bertie (and Laura), reprising. Hopefully, the next time they'll reprise will be the 2019 movie. (I honestly expect it since it's the same creative team. Esepecially Lauren since she's married to the director)
But, isn't Bertie a pretty big name in the UK, or at least is a rising star? Not only did he get some tiny parts in major TV shows in the past, but he also snag 2 major roles in 2 TV shows right after Matilda. By 2018 or 2019, he might be a big enough name to carry this movie. If not, hey: We have John Lloyd Young, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, Nikki Blonsky, and soon Lilla Crawford becoming just Broadway stars (minus Nikki) to major/TV movie stars from making debuts in movie musicals, so why not Bertie?
"I am surprised thay Book of Mormon hasn't been announced for Australia as yet?"
I'm a little bit surprised at that too. Admittedly, Mormonism isn't a massive part of our culture. But the show seems to be gaining word of mouth in non-theatre circles because of the South Park Heritage.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
