I imagine the producers and Jujamcyn are likely getting a nice sum of money to cover the missed performances, didn't Warner Bros do the same when Daniel Radcliffe had to promote Harry Potter when he was in How to Succeed?
I am sure they do..though it's not like they are missing shows, as they are just doubling up before and after to make up the missing shows. But it's nice to have to have 5 days off in a row I would imagine.
You would have to assume Univision is paying something around what the expected gross would be, which is probably around a million dollars. It seems that there would be cheaper venues, but if you've got the money, why not?
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?"
"you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start"
"well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"
Univision is owned by Comcast (NBC Universal) and it is their most profitable division. In every market in the country with a large Hispanic population it ranks #1 in the most desired demographics. The folks are Univision aren't even blinking an eye about spending that much for the upfronts (not to mention Univision will fly Station Owners, Station Managers and Programmers to New York for a week of wining, dining, entertainment and luxury accomodations).
