Just came to post this as well! Wow! Was not expecting this show to come over! I quite enjoyed it in London.

Delightful. One of the best McDonagh plays.

Man there has been a flood of amazing news today!

Another show I'm psyched for.

It's going to be one of the busiest springs I can recall.

YAY!!! I actually think Daniel Radcliffe is a really talented stage actor (loved him in "How to Succeed..."). I will most definitely be seeing this.

I think he's talented on stage as well as on screen.

He's won raves for Kill Your Darlings and Horns.

This is such exciting news! I thought he was excellent in both Equus and How to Succeed and, possibly even more importantly, I love how much he enjoys being onstage. Definitely will be seeing this.

(Also is The Cort only hosting wizards now?)

Great news. I've read good stuff about this production.

I wonder if they will offer cheap tickets again? Unlikely, but would be a very cool thing.

They are selling 10,000 tickets throughout the run at $27.

What an exciting day!

A revival of something we've already seen!
On the heels of news that Noises Off will return yet again!!!!

At this rate, we can look forward to a revival this fall of Annie!

i saw it in London and Radcliffe was the weakest link by miles. His accent was excruciating, especially standing onstage alongside a largely Southern Irish cast!

Loved it in London, thought Radcliffe was excellent as well as the rest of the cast. Would love to see it again in New York!

I did something from the Michael Grandage Season to transfer but thought it would be Henry V and not Cripple of Inishmaan

Saw this in London, a really wonderful production.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Great news. I thought he was excellent in Equus and did a fine job in How To Succeed. I saw it early in previews and he was somewhat a "deer in the headlights", but he worked his little @ss off and I'm sure he relaxed into the role once he really committed all that dancing and movement to muscle memory.

He seems like a fine young man with a good work ethic. I'll definitely see this.

Links to some of the reviews of the London production.

Guardian: 4 out of 5 stars

"Radcliffe also has the precious gift, vital in a play full of narrative surprises, of seeming artful and vulnerable at the same time."

Telegraph: 5 out of 5 stars
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/theatre/theatre-reviews/10132775/The-Cripple-of-Inishmaan-Noel-Coward-theatre.html

"Physically and emotionally, it is a stupendous performance he delivers, and he has to do much more than just “talking.” The accent, the walk – every bit as brilliantly conceived and executed as Antony Sher’s Richard III – and, above all, the humanity that he manages to achieve for Cripple Billy make this the finest piece of acting I have seen all year."

Brantley
http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/06/27/london-theater-journal-daniel-radcliffe-as-cripple-billy/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0

"They’re all freaks in Inishmaan. What human being isn’t, if you look closely enough? Mr. McDonagh’s awareness of this sad, funny fact of life is what makes his portraits of the bored so fascinating. Mr. Radcliffe grasps that perception with sensitivity and firmness. His performance is remarkable precisely because you realize that his character is not."

I thought he worked very hard in HOW TO SUCCEED..., but was, ultimately, let down by a director who over-choreographed and under-directed the show.

Had a scare this morning when a Playbill article revealed that tickets were on sale. Luckily, I've been checking Telecharge constantly to make sure they don't go on sale early. They haven't... yet.

"What an exciting day!

A revival of something we've already seen!"

As opposed to a revival of a new work?

The play has never been on Broadway and was only seen Off-Broadway in '98.
