Carly Jespen will be fine but Sierra could have knocked Cinderella out of the park! She played The Little Mermaid and Christine Daae so playing Cindy would obviously be a cake walk for her. Plus, Hal Prince said "Sierra Boggess is one of the most talented and intelligent artists in the musical theatre today" And it's so true.
That's true, she wouldn't sell tickets because no one outside of the Broadway and West end world really know her. But why did they need a famous name to sell tickets? Carly isn't even that famous. She had one hit song and that was a while ago. Most of america knows that song but they don't know the person singing it. She is a D list celebrity at best. A Broadway lady would have been the better choice.
Better yet, why not Rachel Potter? She has the fame from the X-Factor and the actual Broadway experience! Plus, she actually auditioned for it. I feel bad for her
Carly beat out Rachel Potter? Only because Carly is more famous. ugh. Rachel Potter actually has Broadway credits and is somewhat known for her X factor gig. Is Cinerella struggling to fill seats already? Why bring in a D list celebrity when you have literally hundreds of Broadway women who could pull that role off without a hitch?
^^Yeah, I was thinking, "Why not Les Michele?" Yes, she's a you know and is apparently hard to worth with, but if they really need a actual celebrity, there she is: The pretty voice, Broadway experience, and celebrity status
It's cause she is horrible to her fans and no one wants to work with her. Yeah she is talented I guess, but talent isn't everything. I think she would be a good Cinderella if she learned how to treat people nicely. I was a fan of hers but then I went to a Glee Concert and she was very rude after the show when people were trying to get autographs.
I hate these "why didn't the get so and so" threads. They didn't. The contracted who they contracted. Sierra Boggess was not chosen. That's why she is not replacing Laura Osnes.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
It seems like Sierra is always in the thought bubble of producer's minds, but nothing ever becomes of it. She was also mentioned to be the next Evita after that screechy Argentina lady left.
Why is this a thread? Your question could be asked for every single known actor of every single Broadway replacement role/cast. So ridiculous. Must be a snow day... the kids are out to play!
