"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
That's my initial reaction, but really, if Woody Allen picked her over everyone else, she must have been great throughout the process. I'm excited to see if she can own up to it, I bet she will.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
I will definitely give her every chance, but I truly havent loved her in anything since "Passion".

Maybe she will be absolutely brilliant and surprising (not to me of course-- I think she'll be brilliant already) because actors don't always play to type and she is certainly capable and overwhelmingly committed.
Why are so many so upset Marin is a great actress who has yet to get a tony and she was great in Ragtime which I did not see but have the album. Who will be great in the role
Genius Casting. Saw Marin once on stage years ago in KISS ME KATE and was enchanted by her. Cannot wait for her to utter the iconic phrases "don't speak and "I want to open the world up to you like a big vagina.
Don't believe be? Just ask Maureen O'Sullivan, Charles During,Sam Shepard and Christopher Walken.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
^^I know what you mean. Woody Allen may be a great writer and film director but he knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about casting women's roles. C'mon -- Diane Keaton? Cate Blanchett? Mia Farrow? Dianne Wiest? Scarlett Johansson? Geraldine Page? Maureen Stapleton? Mira Sorvino? Penelope Cruz? Judy Davis? Marion Cotillard? Patricia Clarkson? Barbara Hershey? Anjelica Huston? and so many others. What in the name of hell was he thinking when he cast these actresses?
Allen may have a reputation for being a little difficult to work with. Here's a great interview with Cate Blanchett from a couple days ago about her experience working in BLUE JASMINE. Still, he knows how to get a great performance out of an actress; honestly, he must have seen something out of the world about Mazzie for him to cast her in this, you don't cast Marin Mazzie for political/financial reasons. She must have worked her Ass off to get this part and it looks like it paid off. Nasty_khakis, I want that list too! I really wanna know who said no (whatever happened to those Donna Murphy rumors?). who auditioned (apart from la LuPone and la Peters and la Buckley), and who was Allen's second choice.

Okay, the idea of Sarandon is genius! Still, all the best to Mazzie.

If all the stars align, Mazzie could finally nab that Tony...
