Oh, man. Can't say I'm not enjoying watching Mitt squirm. This story isn't going to go away.
BTW, I'd hardly say that Fox News is turning on Mitt. That story was written by Joe Trippi. Even Fox has commentators from the left occasionally.
"Joe Trippi is a Fox News contributor and political strategist who has worked for Ted Kennedy, Walter Mondale and Gary Hart and turned Howard Dean into an unlikely presidential front runner in 2004. For more visit JoeTrippi.com."
"I want to stop giving tax breaks to companies that are shipping jobs overseas," Obama told the audience of 2,100 at Centreville High School. "Let's give those tax breaks that are investing right here in Virginia, right here in the United States of America, hiring American workers to make American products to sell around the world."
The fact that Fox News would run a story criticizing one of their own is pretty incredible. This is a joke of a network that is bias, unfair, and is known for ignoring stories that may harm Republicans. Here is just a few examples on how they tried to spin two Republican scandals.
Fox news has always relied on a STUPID audience to help sell their agenda and any network that blunders the political party this much and then 'pretend' that it was an honest mistake is a joke.
Fox News protects their own. So, having said that for them to kick Romney when he is down is pretty amazing, IMO.Anyone remember Bret Baier and his really aggressive interview with Mitt Romney? I think Fox really hates Mitt Romney. I think they hate Obama more, but still. Its pretty clear Mitt is not their favorite candidate.

Part of the right wing's willingness to "turn" on Mitty is that they never liked him in the first place. He's a pro-choicer, pro gay rights, Taxachusettes Liberal. That is why every TeaBag flavor of the month got overwhelming support- they'd support anyone who could take him down. The only reason they ever supported him was they thought he could beat Obama. Now, they are sure he can't and they are going to run run run. I bet we will see a third party (Tea Party?) candidate emerge- or even a nudge to step aside for the good of the country- if his polling starts to flag.
Ron Paul is "stirring the pot" right now! The Republican National convention is going to be wonderful. Am anxiously awaiting an October Surprize! Mitt really has started to seem to be floundering.
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
I have a suspicion this Bain stuff surfacing has Karl Rove's Machiavellian fingerprints all over it. I bet he's working towards a brokered convention with the hopes of Jeb Bush and Condi Rice as the ticket.
I keep hearing a brokered convention would be very bad for the GOP. Besides, Mitt has poured WAAAAAAAAAAAAY Too much $$$ into this campaign so far (his money plus other Billionaires) Would Mitt really just walk away? I mean, we know he is a coward and he would if he had to but who else will they run on such short notice?

No. Mitt has been the presumptive nominee for years. So presumptive that few actually vetted him since nobody except a cancer survivor in his seventies was better than him and he appeared straight out of central casting.
Condi seems out of touch from Rove's universe at this point and Rove would have to be a few cards short of a full deck if he thinks the Bush name in 2012 is electable. I am sure Rove is saving up for 2016 and letting the others get knee deep in this mess.
But, I think with a quick turnaround time the entire anyone but Mitt flock would be reenergized, even though they have currently resigned themselves to voting for Mitt because they hate the black guy so much. "Bush" is a recognizable brand, nobody's favorite anymore, but not Romney.
I think it's possible we could see Santorum return. He never was truly "defeated"- he bowed out due to "family issues".
Romney has always been the default candidate because in theory he's the ideal candidate. He was the only nominee that wasn't insane or niche or flavor of the month. But then, y'know, reality ensues. He's got a lot of secrets behind his blandly handsome smiling mug.
The Republican party is scrambling hard- and they have been. The party's a mess. They should have been in a good position to take down Obama this year, honestly. But ever since '08, the party's been fractured and in shambles. There are no viable Obama equivalents on the right.

I think it's possible we could see Santorum return. H Christ almighty, I think it's unlucky you even typed it. SH*T, and now I typed it. NO ONE TYPE IT A THIRD TIME!
Forbes Magazine (which can hardly be accused of being a liberal mouthpiece!) has 35 questions about Bain they feel Romney must answer if he wants the issue to go away.
Weird that George W.Bush is not campaigning or has 'officially' endorsed Mitt. Most political candidates for POTUS seek out a former President from their own party. Despite Hillary and Obama having a shaky primary, Bill Clinton was out there endorsing Obama in 2008. I think Carter was as well. Mitt embraced George H.Bush's endorsement and even made a little photo op out of it. He has however publicly acknowledged Dick Cheney's support.

Mitt NOT ending up as the Republican nominee would be such a remarkable event political junkies (like me) would probably need hospitalization from the palpitations. It would probably NOT be good for Obama as a fresh face always energizes the race- I think he's a lock against Romney.
But IF such a thing would happen- if Mitt could be forced to step aside and a new candidate inserted- it would probably have to be a "consensus" candidate, someone who didn't just run (and lose), the kind of person they used to call "a wise old man." I can't really think of a Republican who fits that bill right now. If McCain hadn't just been trounced four years ago he'd be the obvious choice. Boehner- except right now I think there are huge hunks of the party angry at him.
I think the far more likely scenario is a third party- a Tea Party candidate, probably- springing up. There is a "tea party" apparatus already out there that could be mobilized to get a Sarah Palin or Marco Rubio ticket on the ballot in a majority of states. These folks were never smitten with the mitten.
If that happened I think you'd see an electoral landslide for Obama and Romney coming in third.
Just to be clear, I'm an Obama supporter and I certainly enjoy watching Mitt squirm, but FactCheck is really calling into question all of this Bain stuff.
And FactCheck has called Romeny on his false or misleading political ads as well. FactCheck on Bain Issues
HorseTears- however, Romney's response to the situation is not really helping his situation. It's not the response of a man being unfairly attacked, it's the response of a man caught.

Factcheck and Politifact have both been ridiculed by both parties. Republicans will use the Factcheck/Bain as a source to counter liberals. AT the same time liberals can use Factcheck to debunk myths about Obama or Obamacare. I dismiss both those sites and know many others who do the same.
