I was hoping Anything Goes would be selling signed CDs since I can't make it to their 3:30 in the afternoon album signing on Tuesday!! But only posters & (black & white) Playbills, which I wasn't really feeling.

Come to think of it, it's rare to find signed cast albums at the Flea Market. Usually just windowcards & Playbills, which I guess they have a greater supply of. Oh well. I would have paid up for an Anything Goes CD!

Does anyone know the name of the artist who was selling those Hirschfeld-esque drawings of current shows? Their booth was set up on the pedestrian plaza, near Wicked, Spider-Man & the auction area. They were pretty cool. I'm kind of regretting not buying the Book of Mormon one. But I'm thinking I could probably find it on-line...

matty, that's Squigs. His work is incredible, isn't it?

I didn't get anything I'm super excited about, but I don't regret any of my purchases:

-Free For All ($2)
-Scottsboro Boys Souvenir Program ($1)
-South Pacific Souvenir Program ($25-I overpaid)
-Brief Encounter Windowcard ($5-for a friend)
-The Sound of Music Stained Glass Window Hanging ($1)
-Scottsboro Boys Baseball Cap ($5)
-Rodgers and Hammerstein Birthday Book ($3)
-Drowsy Chaperone Keychain ($1)
-ETA: Sheet Music for "The Heather on the Hill" from Brigadoon ($1)

I did better last year when I was in the market for windowcards (and had space in my room for them).

Yes! That's it, givesmevoice! Thanks!

I wasn't familiar with his (his?) work, but yeah, it's pretty great. Like Hirschfeld lives on!

I may consider a purchase down the road... but first I think I need MORE WALLS to hold all the stuff I want to hang!!!

EDIT: Actually, just glancing at his website, I guess I WAS somewhat familiar with his work. I've seen it-- I just didn't know it was him. (Including the artwork for today's Flea Market poster!! Duh!!)

Yes, I meant to include that photo. I wrote that I bought that picture of that woman I didn't know, and was hoping someone here could identify her if she's an actress.

Uh, you didn't post any photo. You just keep saying "that photo" like people are supposed to know what you are talking about.

There *was* a photo in xoffender45's post when it appeared last night - pic was in an oval frame. But when I went back to look at it it was gone - for whatever reason it's not showing up now.

CockeyedOptimist2, I didn't realize that they had made a Scottsboro Boys souvenir program. Was it really a complete souvenir program or was it the glossy cardboard mailers with the production shots and reviews from off-broadway?

If anyone has a Scottsboro Boys script (the kind that someone posted on a previous page, with the rope binding) that they'd part with, I'd pay a good $25 for it. Or make an offer.

I really wanted some BBAJ merch but literally found nothing - if anyone is willing to trade/sell me something, please message me!

I spent more than I intended but it's a great cause so I can't really complain, plus nothing I bought was over $10 and most things were under $5

I should clarify about my Scottsboro Boys souvenir program, because there was a question about it on here and by PM. Upon consideration, it's less of a souvenir program than it is a brochure for Tony voters. I had seen them before in conjunction with Tony Voter mailings, but it's basically a fancy brochure detailing the nominations, the plot summary and with some great pictures. Sorry to be unclear. I wish I had found copies of the script like Jordan did. I already have one (taken from a Tony Voter mailing), but I really wanted to send one to a friend of mine.

Ha, just said actually it's mine, and walked away? I mean, I wasn't detained or anything actually serious, it wasn't much more than the "and would you like to *pay* for that sweatshirt you're wearing?" snark level, but still. Makes for a fun story to tell after the fact, I guess.

Thanks for the Next to Normal doors info (and photos) - I did see someone leaving with the N2N cast board later in the day, but I'd completely missed seeing those doors at all.

And props to the person/people running the BCEFA Twitter feed, who were on it with the tweeting/retweeting/answering questions during #BwayFlea2011.

What did you get at the 2011 Broadway Flea Market?

Saw this image on another forum, pretty interesting souvenir!!

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
