That was the worst rendition of "Who I'd Be" I've ever heard.

To each his own, I guess. I enjoyed it.

He is. But more than likely it won't matter due to the mount of makeup he will be wearing.

He kind of looks like Hunter Foster in his headshot.

That is an interesting cutting of Who I'd Be. A little funky at some parts, but it shows off range well.

^Agreed. I think that is the point of that of it though, it seems to be a school showcase type thing where one would be trying to show off range and stuff.

Why is Logan Denninghoff not playing Shrek? He's already a NETworks alum with playing Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.

When was this even announced as being Non-Equity? What an awful idea for a non-equity tour.

I want to see it just to see how scaled down it will be.

How is it an awful idea? A lot of small markets who can't book equity tours will be delighted to see SHREK.

And Logan is (as you said) with Beauty and the Beast. That's why he's not playing Shrek, I'd wager.

I think if NETworks wanted him they would let him out of his BatB contract for Shrek.

Seriously? I thought Logan's rendition was awful. His Gaston is good, but not his Shrek. I think NETworks was right to keep him in BatB, but that's just my opinion.

I saw it the other night. I had never seen any of the previous incarnations so I had nothing really to compare it to (I have heard the OBCR, and seen pics/videos but that is it).

They had a couple technical glitches, such as the rope bridge being fussy and getting snagged. The cast is young, but I thought they were all very good.

Nothing like having twelve year olds play the leads. Ahhh -- the Non-Equity slave drive.

Twelve year olds? Overly dramatic, party of one?

So...I was the one who bumped this topic up with a new message, but the message never appeared! No clue how that can even happen.

Anyway, I was asking for people's opinions about the typical quality of non-equity tours. I'm talking performances -- I know the sets are scaled down, etc.

I've seen many Broadway and equity tour productions, and plenty of non-professional theater, but have no concept of the non-equity tour. I'm considering buying Shrek tickets for my sister, and am also a bit baffled by the fact that the prices in Providence, RI are nearly identical to what I paid for the Equity tour in Pittsburgh.

Thanks to anyone who can chime in!

the prices in Providence, RI are nearly identical to what I paid for the Equity tour in Pittsburg.

In some (most?) markets with a broadway series I think the promoters price the non-equity shows high in order to help subsidize the the more expensive equity shows. I also think promoters tend to think that a low priced show within a series would lead ticket buyers to assume that the show is of lesser quality.

I could be wrong.
