How are the stage doors at Tenor and La Cage, do the respective stars in either show come out?

Yes they do, unless it's a matinee at Tenor where only Bartha comes out.

Thank you so much. I love broadway shows, but I am also the hypical stagedooring "fan-gay", and I like seeing all of the stars come out in lieu of "select one" at matinees...So I know I must see a night performance.

I saw the Tenor matinee on Saturday and Bartha and Shalhoub both came out as well as Garrison, Thompson and Adams.

Going back to Grammar's horrendous MACBETH, he was very genial afterwards and we wound up having a lengthy conversation about his interpretation of the role as we walked down the street together.

Did you tell him that he was horrendous?

Quiz101, what do you mean...the typical "fan gay?" What does that mean? Updated On: 4/13/10 at 06:43 PM

fan-gay was a play on words from the commonly used term fan-girl. Just a rabid fan who waits outside the stage door (who happens to be gay).

If that was offensive, i apoligize, I was poking fun at myself.

quiz, no I wasn't offended - not at all. Just was curious as to what that meant.

Can I ask you this, though.....what does your sexual orientation have to do with waiting at the stage door? Just curious....

He obviously was using the term in lieu of the word "girl" since obviously he is not a girl. However, his reaction to meeting stars is similar to that of a girl. He was trying to be witty.

There is not that much to read into...

That's one way to explain it. Just struck me as odd - that's all.

After tonight's (4/13) performance, everyone came out. You weren't allowed to take picture of or with Anthony LaPaglia, but everyone else was game for anything.

I can understand someone not being allowed to take a picture with someone, but how exactly does someone not all a picture to be taken OF them. Are the Kodak police going to come and arrest you if you take a picture of him. Is he a gremlin or vampire, and a picture of him is going to turn him to dust?

I'm sorry if I'm ranting, but that whole picture of thing has always ticked me off. The sidewalk (as far as I know) is public property. No one can really stop a picture from being taken OF them.

Seriously???

He asks his fans that they please not take any pictures. The stage door guy goes around to everybody and explains this in a calm way. It is not a demand, and of course there are going to be rude people who don't respect his wishes, and those are the same people who are there to take pictures and get autographs to sell on e-bay, not there because they enjoyed the show.

Why is it so hard for anyone to respect a person's wishes?

How's Tony Shalhoub at the stage door? I'm shy, but I'd LOVE to meet him.

Tony Shalhoub was incredibly nice the night I was at the stage door. He signed for everyone and took pictures with anyone who asked.

On the night I went, Lapaglia was very polite when he asked that no one take pictures. He was very kind and courteous, signing and chatting with the fans. Everyone else signed and took pictures when asked. Tony Shaloub was a total gentleman.

i was there for the second preview at TENOR. everyone came out.. Lapaglia personally doesn't want pics taken becuase of the internet he said.. There were two parents there with a little 8 year old girl from North Carolina and the father kept saying they were there becuase the little girl LOVES Monk. Tony picked her up over the barricades and took tons of pics with her, was putting bunny ears behind her head and everything. he spent like 5 minutes with her.. i know the story didnt need to be shared but i thought it was really nice of him

Tony has a thing for bunny ears, I guess. He did the same thing with my sister (who is 16, but looks a little younger).

Tony is super sweet and friendly and takes time with everyone.

When I was there, the only person I didn't see come out was Jan Maxwell, and I left before Anthony LaPaglia came out because he was taking forever and I was tired. Jan might have come out and signed after him, I don't know.

but everyone else was game for anything.

Bartha's game for anything? Why did I only ask for a signature and picture then?!

Everyone came out of the stage door tonight and they all signed and were very gracious.

It has been my dream for years to meet Anthony LaPaglia and he was more than gracious. He signed my playbill and personalized my "Without A Trace" DVD insert (as you know from my screen name, it is one of my favorite shows of all time). What a gentleman. Love him. Love the rest of the cast. Love the show. Can't wait to see it again with my aunt in a few weeks.
