The likelihood is chances are slim they will undertake the massive amount of work needed to cast, rehearse and handle the physical production and everything else, just for a 9 week run.

If the 9-weeks you are referring to are at City Center, that is already dead...at least no longer on their calendar.

Rent?  Do you mean at City Center?  Please clarify.

I wonder how this will go, considering rumors I'm hearing in the pipeline that an un-credited contributor is contemplating legal action...

I spoke with someone who works at City Center and they said that a large staff meeting was held recently and they were told that Bat Out Of Hell was not dead in the water and they were told to prepare for the 8 week run.

As WldKingdomHM posted above, Monday morning should tell the tale.  As always, looks like it all comes down to the dough-re-me.

WldKingdomHM has informed me that the City Center engagement will not be happening...at least not in the late summer.  Rent was not paid on April 1.

Anyone else have any deets re the future or lack thereof of this sad, sad BOOH saga?

This... should not shock anybody. You don’t abruptly cancel a national tour and then do a sit down production.

This was expected due to the lack of interest, I just feel terrible for the company and everyone who was working so hard on the tour.

Indeed.  Perhaps back to square one now and a Broadway house?  So much baggageslashillwill that the knives would be out and it would be an uphill climb, but miracles do happen once or twice in an eon.

I'm guessing this will never see the light of day. After all the financial problems the show has had, who's going to risk booking them into their theater? I dont know about a lack of interest, but not being able to pay rent in advance is a lack of financial backing or money mismanagement.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm very disappointed. While I wasn't expecting "great theatre", I thought this show looked quite fun and I was really looking forward to seeing it.

Did it not do well in London and Toronto? Maybe it's a "We Will Rock You" situation, and American audiences just aren't into it.

Hey the mystic Famebroadway2 must have had a premonition.

...did you read the rest of the thread? They're not, dude. They didn't pay the rent for their slot at City Center at the beginning of this month. Game over.

Dude, where are you getting your information? There has been no announcement by City Center that the production has been cancelled. Have you not read the other threads or did you just read your own? Lordy!

I have it on incredibly good authority they are still planning on at least starting the rehearsal process.

But, as we have seen before, that is no guarantee the show will actually happen. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would even buy a ticket before this thing was actually in performance.

My spy has also mentioned that an announcement is forthcoming.  NYC or another city prior-to-Broadway?  Anybody's guess.

Lord knows they can't have coaxed any of the last cast back. They terminated their contract and didn't even give them bus tickets home.

This show is so horrendously bad, I can't believe anyone is disappointed to not see it.

It's a disaster from start to finish.
