Because Elsie Fest was scheduled on the same day last year, I was not able to stay till the end.  I'm very glad I was able to stay till the end this year to get some really good bargains.  Got the Rocky window card, cd and program for $1.50.  Towards the end, others were giving everything away for free or for what ever donation you can give.

People were paying outrageous prices for anything Hamilton signed.  I feel fortunate to get Public Hamilton and Fun Home window cards for $50.  Overall, I'm satisfied with my haul.

"Yes, they wanted $200 for a signed If/Then vinyl. I know it's for a good cause, but it's not helping Broadway Cares when they pack them all up at the end of the day without selling many.."

I felt the same way about those prices. I feel like the Wicked table tends to not drop the prices at all, I guess because they know they'll have another chance the following year...

I was even happier to pick up a Public Fun Home poster for one dollar, after the matinee of The Humans!

Me too! At a 98% discount from the $50 they wanted for it at 10:30. :)

Jordan, count me in as someone who can't thank you enough for letting me know about Jennifer Holliday at The Color Purple table!  I had always wanted to meet her.  She was incredibly nice (and also got a decent amount of business, so good fundraising, too!).  I'm curious what her take on the role will be.

I didn't find the merchandise this year to be all that exciting overall, but I got a few interesting things.  I got one of the big record props from the Shuffle Along table.  I also got an old Playbill from 1955 that had instructions about what to do in the case of an air raid on the title page.

I wonder how the Hamilton table ended up doing with all of the unsigned prop letters they were selling.  They wanted something like $60 for a single sheet of unsigned paper at the beginning of the day; I don't know if they had many takers or not.

"What was the name of that cheese that I like?" "you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start" "well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"

I got a lot of messages from people about Holliday, so I'm glad I got the word out. She was just the sweetest woman alive and made whatever disappointments I had about the day, completely worth it. She was out there for over three hours with fans which, for a legendary broadway performer is basically unheard of.

They were 2 for $10 around 5.

I'm deeply jealous of the people who managed to get Diane Lane at the autograph/photo booth. What a top notch surprise she was. I was on the noon line for Mary Beth Peil but she canceled so I left around 12:15 since she was my main want. I might have heard them calling for Diane if I'd stayed! Hindsight is 20-20. But how great for them to have a movie star up there. I'm sure she raised lots of money and, thanks to Jordan, I was able to get one of the few "Cherry Orchard" posters she signed at the Roundabout table.

My favorite moments of the day were finding an "Annie" program from 1979 with SJP as Annie signed by her (she only wrote Sarah Parker!) and getting to randomly meet and speak to Christine Taylor, who was walking around with her teen/tween kids.

Overall, the merch was hit or miss. The tshirt selection seemed better than usual but things I usually like looking at - signed stuff, show jackets - seemed really scarce. And the haggling at the end of the day was nearly impossible.

The street not being closed did make it difficult but it was nice to have beautiful weather!

For next year, I'd definitely like to see more organization to the bulk items at the booths, like Playbills and clothes. Some booths were getting impossibly crowded due in part to the fact that their offerings were not organized in an intuitive way that allowed people to make quick work of searching through the items to find ones they really wanted. A bunch of clothes thrown in a heap on a table means that each person at the front of the table is going to want to half-haphazardly dig, dig, and then dig some more through the pile to ensure they didn't miss anything. Playbills placed horizontally in a pile at the bottom of a deep box means that those at the front of that table are going to pull out stacks of Playbills and awkwardly sort through it by hand instead of quickly riffling through boxes of vertical Playbills with enough blank space to allow for easy riffling--like a Rolodex. Congestion around most tables can be traced back to these two issues.

If anyone got any unique American Psycho merch and are wanting to sell please message me. Did anyone see any AP merch?

Unfortunately no. I was there most of the day and saw nothing from American Psycho, actually.

I got an AMERICAN PSYCHO fanny pack. That was pretty much the only AP thing I saw all day, sadly. Broadway Flea Market 2016

I saw some playbills from American Psycho,  but that was it. Didn't get one.

Sounds like I lucked out with my Gigi shirt. The guy running the table happened to pick 1 up in the size I wanted. I only got to dig through 1 box which was a lot of Amazing Grace stuff.

Overall, I think this year was a step up from last year, but not a major improvement. The design was very messy but I also felt like there was a little more space between tables which was nice. In terms of purchases, I was very particular as I have been in recent years and did a nice job of sticking to my budgeted $60 dollars I took out and didn't feel any need to run to the bank for more.

I arrived around like 9:30-ish and walked around taking things in and the only thing I got right off the bat was a Spring Awakening revival "Guilty Ones" t-shirt because I had a feeling it would be a quick to go item and that was $10.

Most of the items I got were $10 or less - including:

  • A promo copy of the Waitress cast album [$3]
  • Grease 2007 revival national tour souvenir program [$3]
  • The King and I: 2015 revival souvenir program [$3]
  • 2014 Les Mis revival poster (the one with Matt Rosell/Kyle Scatliffe) [$10]
  • Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder hat [$3]
  • The Last Ship tote bag [$1]
  • Dear Evan Hansen tote bag [$10]

I also got a script from Beautiful for $5 for a friend, and was part of a group photo with the kids from School of Rock.

Did anyone notice if the Alex Brightman signed sunglasses went down in price? They went down from like $80 to $60 - which to me was insane for sunglasses.

I did the Dear Evan Hansen opening night gift pillow raffle and I actually won. Heh. That's a first. Not bad considering I only bought one raffle ticket for $3. :)

Did anyone buy one of those cute little smiling stuffed cupcakes? I couldn't get anywhere near the table to even touch one, let alone buy one.
