But did we ever find out if Laura was a real Republican?

wow, this thread is scary and adds fuel to the fire that the left is actually less tolerant than the right these days. Suggesting people be fired or not employed in a whole industry because of political beliefs is a very dangerous precedent. In every walk of life you have to work alongside people with different beliefs and generally politics doesn't come up in daily life. Imagine if a Republican white collar area refused to employ any Democrats in factors (for example), there would be uproar.

Thank you so much for this. I'm a liberal Democrat but when I stated Chad Kimball is allowed to have an opinion I received a PM that told me to "watch my back". Insane.

I honestly don't care. The world is literally burning and we're gonna die soon anyway, so if a C-Lister donates a couple of bucks, so what. I'm tired of trying to keep track of what we're supposed to boycott and/or cancel anymore and most people easily forget anyway.

No matter who wins in November I dont think that will change because neither side listens to the other and cant possibly consider anothers point of view."

Well considering one side's point of view is "Who cares about 200k dead? Own the libs. Screw you if you want equality and to be treated well" why should the other side be treating them kindly? We've tried that, and it got us to this point. I certainly can't say I'd hire someone that actively donates to the party that's trying to hurt their potential co-workers, but I also don't think he should be fired unless he starts actively causing problems in his show.

And with that said, the PM that Sutton Ross says they got is definitely insane and stuff like that will never help anyone.

Ah, but there's the thing... they don't look at it that way. They look at the "libs" as trying to impose a morality they don't agree with on them and that violates their deeply held religious beliefs. They look at the "libs" as promoting the murder of millions of people they truly do consider people via abortion. They see "libs" calling for the elimination of their jobs by banning fossil fuels, and raising their taxes when they struggle to make their own ends meet. And they see progressives as people who want to expand the role of government when they just want to be left alone. They look at liberals and progressives with the same amount of disdain and horror that people on this thread look at them.

It's time to build bridges and not burn them down.

It is time to stop coddling lunatics. Republicans very well may feel these things, but that doesn’t make it any less delusional. Imposing morality? Upon republicans? When they cherry pick the Bible and religion to demonize and oppress? They want to be “left alone” but be the judge and jury regarding everyone else’s liberties.

When pregnant mothers were ineligible for the $500 per child COVID stimulus payment, we were given yet another example of how republican opposition to abortion is about controlling women’s autonomy, not about the sanctity of life.

Call a false equivalency if you’d like, but there is no balance between those who seek to expand rights and those who seek to limit. Keep calling for a magical bridge that does exist.

Let's be honest, this is the most anybody's really cared about McPhee on Broadway. She should be thanking those who are rightfully angry at her donations to a fascist racist sexist homophobic tax dodger who is setting civil rights backwards after all her pandering to the LGBTQ community...well, a very specific niche of the LGBTQ community...the type she thinks she can accessorize...just so that's truly the last fanbase she has thanks to that awful show Smash where we were all supposed to pretend there was actual competition between her and Megan Hilty. Maybe her marriage to David Foster will lengthen her shelf life a bit until he finds his next wife.

I also don't buy that there are people who doesn't see we are in a true fight for the future of the country and common human decency. Instead, they know what they are doing and are purposefully and intentionally using falsely equivalency to put some logical/rational blanket on their animus and abhorrent views.

Unnecessary reality check I'm sure:  It's not only "libs" or "dems" who oppose the present administration. It's republicans and independents of intelligence and decency.

"100% agree on everything you just said. She strikes me as a sweet but simple woman."

We never really know people behind their public persona. I liked McPhee when she was on "American Idol" and thought she should have won. I enjoyed her also on SMASH and yes Megan Hilty was better "Marilyn". I became a real McPhee fan when I heard about what she did on the final curtain call of "Waitress" on Broadway. When it was time for her to take her final bow, she ran over and grabbed ensemble member/Jenna understudy and had her share the final bow together. The woman she shared the bow with was with the show from the beginning and was supposedly a very popular cast member. See video clip below, it happens at 00:48 of the clip. Maybe McPhee is not some outspoken person on the issues of the day but for someone to share their "big" moment at the closing of a Broadway show with understudy/ensemble cast member show a sense of caring/respect for another person that I admire.
