It’s not rude to give a standing ovation and potentially block someone who elects not to stand themselves. Barring a disability, they’ve made the calculated decision that the performance did not merit their standing. Which is fine, but the entitlement in saying those who sit should dictate it for the rest of the audience is laughable.
I saw it a week or two after opening and found it THRILLING. Billy Porter and Adrienne Warren's solos alone made it all seem worth it to me. Then on top of that, you have Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Brandon Victor Dixon, Joshua Henry, etc. And the dancing! Some of the most exciting tap I've seen in a musical.
It wasn't perfectly constructed and was perhaps a bit long for some, but it was interesting, informative, entertaining, and represe

Just curious, before I read it, does the spoiler have to do with the actual story of orpheus and eurydice? Or specific to the production?
Why don't my broadway programs say playbill on them? Feb 6

Program printing is handled by the venue and not all venues go through Playbill. No other reason. Not an indicator of equity or not.
Re-reading To Kill a Mockingbird before seeing the show? Jan 26

Thats a great way of looking at it; to analyze the objective of the changes. I love thoughtful reimaginations of beloved plays and musicals. No reason to see this differently.

Apologies if its been discussed, but Im trying not to read a lot about the production. I know Atticus character development is different on stage, but thats pretty much all I know.
Im wondering if people recommend reading/re-reading TKAM ahead of seeing the play? Its been so long since I was steeped in these characters and I have the urge, but know Ill potentially be opening myself up to too much comparison of the entities as I watch.
Any thoughts of those who know both the n

Wondering if anyone has heard anything about any possible cast extensions?
$75!? Then my original Broadway Playbill signed by Idina and Kristin must be worth a small fortune!

The fact that the ensemble doesn’t respond to “30 minutes to places” in the number that features the Legacy Robe is such a missed opportunity for a show with so many theatre gems!

Disagree about the empowerment lines. Frankly, I feel like adapting Tootsie and Mrs Doubtfire in 2018/19, is shortsided. Those lines kept it relevant.

The book is hysterical. Santino is very charming, Lilli sounds incredible, and Sarah Stiles steals the show.
No songs are bad, many are very entertaining, and all well-delivered, but given how deeply in love with TBV score, I was a bit disappointed. Sarah’s song/reprises and Lilli’s backstory song were the highlights for me.
Many parts felt very Broadway Insider, which I wonder how tourists will react to?
The show says some wonderful things about equality and the pow
I bought the Mean Girls cast recording on vinyl today and am super disappointed with the sound quality. There seems to be an ambient surface noise throughout the entire recording and the pitch is not right. The ladies sound a bit chipmunk-y.
I know this probably isn’t flying off shelves, but anyone else happen to purchase and find the same issue?
Other than the sound, it’s so not fetch (I hate myself) that they didn’t take any care in the design. Sure,
Last night, there was a technical issue with the LED walls during the curtain call. They didn't move in and effectively blocked the principal actors from entering to take their bows (at least, that's what I think happened). After the ensemble bowed, there was a good 30-40 seconds of an empty stage, lights flashing, orchestra playing - the Chers then came on to sing the "Believe" finale and Stephanie starts the song with "what am I supposed to do - LITERALLY!"
