Funny how this news starting to get national attention happened the same week New York cancelled their presidential primary.

Yeah, the Spring after the election I saw her at two shows in NYC, she got a huge standing ovation from people, tears were shed, it was a pretty big deal. Oh, and Bill was there, too.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Ever hear of "Jackie" from Rolling Stone? The slogan "believe women" never meant anyone was compelled to think every accusation was the truth, only that people shouldn't immediately jump to "she's a lying whore " every time a woman comes forward with an accusation.

"believe all women" means that you take all claims seriously...and then you investigate to determine their validity, just like when a man reports a crime. Automatically taking all claims as truth would be absurd, from any side.
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.
I’m sure the Biden camp is not too happy about that. They like to suppress the vote.

I spent the better part of the day breaking up virtual fights between folks on opposing sides of a floated Joe Biden/Val Demings ticket. Klobuchar remains my choice for veep but I'll certainly support a Biden/Demings ticket if it materializes. I can see the electoral college Xs and Os on the board.
@Highland Guy, please keep 'em coming!!! It took some time for the Dems to extract the signal from much noise. That aside, the choice now is painfully obvious. I'd vote for Biden even if he picked my neighbor's cat as running mate.

Klobucher declined to prosecute the Pig who murdered George Floyd years ago so....she's done. Her tepid response to this entire thing doesn't work with people of color as well.
I like Amy a lot. No candidate is perfect. But I do think there are plenty of women of color who are just as qualified to be Biden’s running mate and that’s what we need right now for a multitude of reasons (it’s overdue, reaching out to a hurting population, the possibility of some healing to hurting nation, etc.).
Timing is everything. I think that the aftermath of George Floyd's demise and Andrea's pointed questions do Amy no favors. I was an Amy stan for the longest time but she needs to take one for the team. Kamala Harris is similarly challenged with respect to her record as a district attorney and eventually state attorney general. And Biden needs to find a way to gain a larger audience quickly.
