I would assume that's how long Ed Harris is contracted, too. Financially, it would make more sense to shut down after Labor Day and miss 2-3 weeks of the September Slump, but I don't know when Cindy is planning to open. If Rudin/Webber want to start Cindy previews in September then TKAMB would have to vacate the Shubert in July.

The show could be made to work at almost any of the Shubert playhouses. It'll just come down to what's available at that time.

Sure, nothing's official until there's a press release. But it also matches with other rumors (on here and elsewhere), that Rudin was going to move TKAMB and put Cinderella at the Shubert.

But wasn't the rumors that The Music Man would go to the Shubert, or was that just speculation? Plus isn't Cinderella opening in the West End first before Broadway? I know ALW has mentioned he wants to bring it over, but that feels like very far away as we don't even know any information on it on the West End. Then again, Music Man is also far away, but it feels close because of the announcement already.

The rumor since the Tonys has been that MUSIC MAN would play the Winter Garden. There was simply speculation about the Shubert because of Dolly and Mockingbird. The Winter Garden also has 350 more orchestra seats and no Balcony, so the average ticket price can be much higher.

With Rudin's involvement, it seems likely that Cinderella will open on Broadway first. He really doesn't do out-of-town tryouts because he can't micro-manage from 3,000 miles away. (The months-ago article about Cinderella had also speculated that Cindy could become Netflix film first, or play the West End, but that doesn't seem to be happening now.)

This would be the first time ever that an ALW show didn’t premiere on the West End first, wouldn’t it?

People on here have been predicting Beetlejuice closing before it opened. The show is doing fine, in fact it's trajectory looks very much like its on the rise since The Tony Awards.

Do you mean update the lyrics to the opening song? They've done that pretty much for every tv performance already (Today Show, etc). That's probably my favorite part of watching the cast perform that song in different places.

So Scott Rudin is a micro-manager? Tell me more! Lol! I heard he is not fun to work with. Also, why do the plays he does, why don’t they ever have merchandise to buy? There was nothing to buy at King Lear and Three Tall Women.
