Of course any ticket holder is free to leave any performance at any time (they’re not prisoners) I was just saying earlier, that I do my very best to stay for each performance because I like to complete things I start, maybe that’s OCD, however, to someone else’s point, yes, I have left food uneaten in a restaurant and don’t mind telling them that I didn’t like the food. Who cares what they think? But I would either not eat the same dish again or would not even go back to that restaurant. Let’s

Intersting about Sondheim leaving. I mean he is almost 89 years old, so not exactly the demographic of BMC’s target audience! However, I have never left a show at intermission, except once (and that was in the middle of a 90 minute show, I was literally getting sick from food poisoning). To me, I can stick out a show or movie, even if I become bored or tired in it. I have of course, closed my eyes in a show or film, but never left because I didn’t like what I was watching (ok once I remember in

After seeing Moulin Rouge in August last year in Boston, I said Be More Chill would win Best Musical 2019 and Moulin Rouge would win Best Musical 2020. I stand by my predictions. Although BMC didn’t get good reviews, the industry people I know like BMC, and wish it well, so don’t underestimate BMC! And besides Moulin Rouge, I don’t know what else people are excited for in 2020?

If they’re late teens or early 20’s, take them to Be More Chill! Since they’re younger, I think they would love it! That’s the target audience, young people!

I saw the final technical dress rehearsal and I went to opening night. I’m not sure what exactly they changed between the two performances I saw, but, I’m telling you, it was better the second time. I really enjoyed it, and I was not bored. I’m late 40’s, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Other musicals I liked, were Fun Home, Hamilton, Color Purple, She Loves Me, Falsettos, DEH, Band’s Visit, The Light in the Piazza. I list those, so you can see what other things I really liked.

Everything is subjective, right? I’m late 40’s and liked the show more than I thought I would. I loved Hamilton too, and even though it’s wildly successful, there are actually people who don’t like it. Even the most successful financial shows will have critics. Even the most critically acclaimed shows will have critics. I couldn’t stand THE FERRYMAN, but everyone just raves about it. My least favorite musical is Gentelman’s Guide, and it won best musical, and I couldn’t stand it!! Thankfully th

Thanks for your response, CarmenA3.
While you were spot on about the running time--I'm sorry I can't agree with your sentiment of the show.
While "Be More Chill" strains to be clever and relevant at every turn, it's excruciatinglyhackneyed.

I’ve always wondered this question. When a reviewer sees a show, does she or he see it multiple times before writing the review? I mean after I see a show once, I can always say whether I liked it or not and usually there is a main reason why I liked or didn’t like it. But I have a hard time recounting all the plot points that one usually reads in a professional review. It seems that the reviewer must see a show multiple times before writing a review, because they are always filled with so much

You’re the one who made a sarcastic response to my suggestion. No, I don’t work in their marketing dept. I’m just hoping the show succeeds! As I hope all Broadway shows succeed. Why be negative and nasty when people are trying to be helpful?

I would start with marketing to Delta and United since they have major hubs in the NYC area, and can bring lots of customers to the area.

If I was in marketing in BMC, I would also do some advertising in other major cities where parents might be likely to take their kids to NYC for summer trip (spring break too, but it might be a little late for that). Even advertising in airline magazines (or if the PR dept could get articles written in airline magazines, those parents who read those, can afford to take their kids to MYC and spend money on Broadway tickets. I would target American, United, Delta and Southwest.. Also, some advert

How do some shows have more than 100% capacity? Like for instance Hamilton has 101.75% capacity for last week. How can you have more than 100% capacity? Also it seem like BMC has dropped each week in avg ticket price as well as capacity. Is this normal for a successful show?

I like reading reviews, I find them interesting, especially for shows I am interested in. But do you all think reviews really hurt or help a show? It seems like a lot of peoples’ minds are already made up about BMC? It seems that on this board it’s like 60% like 40% don’t. Agree or disagree?

So, what do you all think Brantley or Jesse Green will say about BMC? And have you ever wondered how they divide up who reviews each show? It seems like the most prestigious and highly anticipated shows go to Brantley and Green (and another critic?) get the lesser shows. Is that right? I’m always curious, when the reviews come out, who got to review it and did the show merit a review from Brantley (maybe I’m reading too much into this, lol!) Also, what other reviews are important? Variety? New Y

Aren’t they discounting a lot to get a lot of people in seats to spread the word? To increase word of mouth?
