Valentine's Dinner Theater Mystery at Riverside Stage

Howard County's Head StART in ART Program Welcomes Yvette Lewis

In FY2000, the Howard County Arts Council developed a partnership with the Ellicott City Head Start Center to establish an artist in residence program. This partnership, Head StART in ART, provides the children with an in-depth, hands-on artistic experience they might otherwise never have and ensures them access to the arts. Many are introduced to the arts for the first time and experience the joy and wonder of artistic expression. The opportunity for such an experience during these formative years can have a key impact on the children's future appreciation of and involvement in the arts, as well as improve language learning skills.

Spotlighters Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland will donate a portion of all proceeds from two events to support the work of Lutheran World Relief in Haiti. The first of which, the Spotlighters Cabaret - The Forbidden Cabaret, will take place on Sunday, January 24 at 6:30pm. Music Director Michael Tan has gather some of Baltimore's talented performers to present and evening of fun and hilarity. The cabaret will feature: Kerry Brady, Jeffrey Coleman, Kristen Cooley, Erin Donovan, Holly Gibbs, Jesse Grant, Patricia Hengen, Troy Hopper, and Angela Sullivan,and others.

Renowned filmmaker and producer Mel Brooks is not about to let critics' unfavorable views of the New York Production's staging of 'Young Frankenstein' spoil his mood; 'The second child is always shunned,' he says in an interview with the Baltimore Sun, where the national tour of 'Young Frankenstein' is currently playing through January 24, 'I think it's the best score I've ever written. It's twice as good as 'The Producers.' If I'd done 'Young Frankenstein' first, I would have gotten the 12 Tonys for that. But it had to follow 'The Producers
