Strand Theater Company joins forces with StillPointe Theatre Initiative to co-produce The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin - an Obie Award-Winning, autobiographical, "smartly sweet" musical about a woman named Bubbly learning to embrace her color, as she pursues a dream of becoming the greatest dancing star in the world. Directed by Ryan Haase. The production will begin with Previews on February 8-14, will officially open on February 15, and run through February 23. Tickets to Previews are $15, Opening Night - $25, general admission $20, Seniors $15, Students $10.
Single Carrot Theatre's Season Continues With THE TROPIC OF X, 2/6-3/3

Single Carrot Theatre's sixth season continues with The Tropic of X by Caridad Svich. The show will perform SCT's new temporary space at 1727 N. Charles (the former Everyman Theatre) from February 6th- March 3rd. Preview Performances will be February 6th and 7th at 7:30 pm, opening night is February 8th at 7:30pm.

The professional theatre company has recently moved into its new home on Fayette Street, part of the newly established Bromo Tower Arts and Entertainment District. The 'Tech Crawl' will take place at various locations in Everyman's new neighborhood.

The Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA) will host CABARET!, an Evening of Music, Songs and Laughter on May 20, 2013 featuring members of The Capitol Steps and with performances by CCTA students and alumni. The event will be held at Toby's Dinner Theatre-Columbia beginning at 5:30pm with cocktails, dinner and a silent auction. Preceeds will benefit the children's theater Scholarship Fund and Outreach Programs that make quality arts programming accessible to youth in under-resourced communities.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly leads vocalist Ashley Brown in a performance of beloved Broadway hits on Thursday, February 21 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore and Friday, February 22 at 8 p.m., Saturday, February 23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 24 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Ms. Brown, known as Broadway's original Mary Poppins, will perform popular Broadway selections including "Make Someone Happy," "A Spoon Full of Sugar," "Le Jazz Hot," "Defying Gravity" from Wicked and more. Also on the program is a medley of popular Disney tunes, including "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" from Cinderella, "A Whole New World" from Aladdin, "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. In 2013, the world celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of German Romantic composer Richard Wagner. His legacy of lush, dramatic operas and penchant for speaking his mind about topics ranging from music to politics and society has left a lasting impact on classical music and culture. Among his greatest contributions to the Western music canon is his four-cycle opera Der Ring des Nibelungen ("The Ring of the Nibelung").
