Tim Getman Joins Everyman Theatre's GOD OF CARNAGE

By:

Everyman Theatre has announced that renowned actor Tim Getman will be stepping into the role of Alan Raleigh in the upcoming production of God of Carnage. Resident Company Member Bruce Randolph Nelson was originally announced in the role but recently suffered an injury to his left shoulder. While he is expected to fully recover, his injury does not allow him to perform such a physical role. Mr. Nelson is expected to return to the Everyman stage for the final production of the 2012/13 season, The Beaux' Stratagem.

Mr. Getman is no stranger to Everyman audiences. He was last seen in the pivotal role of George Deever in the smash hit, All My Sons. He has also been seen in Everyman's productions of Two Rooms and The Exonerated. Regionally, Mr. Getman has performed at Arena Stage (Death of a Slaesman, View from the Bridge, Christmas Carol: 1941), Folger Elizabethan Theatre (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Elizabeth the Queen), Olney Theatre Center (Night Must Fall, An Enemy of the People, Somewhere in the Pacific), and Rep Stage (A Lie of the Mind, In the Heart of America - Helen Hayes Nomination), among others.

Two high-strung couples, Alan and Annette Raleigh (Tim Getman & Resident Company Member Megan Anderson) and Michael and Veronica Novak (Christopher Bloch & Resident Company Member Deborah Hazlett), decide to meet one evening for a civilized discussion about a playground altercation between their two young sons. What follows is a comically explosive downhill slide from polite, political correctness to full-on character assassination.
The New Yorker called this laugh-out-loud hilarity "ninety minutes of sustained mayhem." A no holds barred look at relationships between spouses and friends, and what happens when the littlest things end up pushing us completely over the edge...

God of Carnage runs from March 13 through April 7, 2013, offering performances Wednesday through Sunday, with selected Tuesday evening performances.

Everyman Theatre will partner with Style Magazine as the Media Sponsor of God of Carnage.

Everyman Theatre is a professional theatre company dedicated to celebrating the actor, with a resident company of artists from the Baltimore/DC area. Seeking connection and emotional truth in performance, Everyman Theatre was founded in 1990 by Vincent Lancisi. The theatre is committed to engaging the audience through a shared experience between actor and patron, and to presenting high quality plays that are affordable and accessible to everyone.
