Producers Joey Parnes, Larry Hirschhorn, and John O'Boyle announced today that Christopher Durang's Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is headed to Broadway on the heels of its sold-out premiere at Lincoln Center. The 17-week strictly limited engagement is set to begin performances on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Broadway's Golden Theatre. Directed by Nicholas Martin, the Broadway production will feature the entire original company, which includes Sigourney Weaver, David Hyde Pierce, Kristine Nielsen, Genevieve Angelson, Shalita Grant, and Billy Magnussen. Opening night is set for Thursday, March 14, 2013.

The Human Rights Campaign - the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization - will host its annual Greater New York Gala dinner on February 2, 2013 at the Waldorf Astoria. This year's event comes on the heels of historic electoral wins for marriage equality across the country.

According to the New York Times, the Trustees of The Laurents/Hatcher Foundation, Inc. have announced that "A Kid Like Jake" has been selected for the 2013 LAURENTS / HATCHER FOUNDATION AWARD. The foundation will provide a $50,000 cash award to playwright Daniel Pearleand a grant of $100,000 to go directly towards the production costs of the play's premiere at LCT3 in June.

Today in 1966, Sweet Charity opened at the Palace Theatre, where it ran for 608 performances. It is based on Federico Fellini's screenplay for Nights of Cabiria. Complete casting has been announced for the world premiere of Tony Award winning playwright Richard Greenberg's new play,Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's, which begins preview performances on Monday, March 4, 2013 with an opening night of Wednesday, March 20, 2013.Directed by Sean Mathias, it will play the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street).
