Throwback in 3's at Ground Floor Theatre

Three artists working in different ways investigate the timelessness of art. Throwback in 3’s highlights the ways performance is an ephemeral art. Erica Santiago, Founder and Director of Shakti Moves Dance Company, first conceptualized Throwback in 3’s  when the company reached the 9 year milestone and funding began to dry up.

In alignment with Shakti Moves Dance Company’s mission to celebrate diversity, strength and  gender inclusivity, Throwback in 3’s features our resident artist, a guest choreographer, and company dancers, including:

Cassandra DeFreitas: poetry, performance art and song from herstory

Lisa Nicks: a trio of solos originally set on herself

Erica Santiago and the Shakti Movers: restage 5 works, all built in the round, for the proscenium from the last decade

Audiences can expect an evening of pieces playing on the number 3, group and solo performances, and spoken word. Enjoy watching how performance artists re-work and revive work keeping it—and them—fresh as the day it was created.
