Reefer Madness The Musical at Austin Community College Drama Department

David Dech is (insert positive adjective here) to be returning to ACC as Jimmy Harper. David is an ACC musical theatre alum and has most recently been seen directing Communication by Captivation’s Frankenstein Against Humanity and originating Hathak in Soundbeacon’s Unveiled: The Musical. He would like to thank everyone who has supported him through his career as he continues to learn and improve.

Kirk Kelso is euphoric to be cast in his first ACC Drama Department production. Some of his favorite roles have been: The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz (Zilker Theatre Productions), Donkey in Shrek the Musical (Georgetown Palace), Michael Dorsey/Dorothy Michaels in Tootsie the Musical (Central Texas Theatre VLA), and Arles Struvie, Vera Carp, Didi Snavely et al in Greater Tuna (Georgetown Playhouse). In his spare time Kirk is a personal trainer and yoga instructor at www.kirkwerks.com and he loves to nap with his dogs.

Milo McKinney is ecstatic to take on the role of Mary Lane in their second production at ACC! Some of his past roles include, The Witch in Into The Woods, Hamlet in Hamlet, and Donna in Mamma Mia! Milo has also worked in directing, modeling, costuming, and voice acting. When not on stage, they enjoy all things fashion, from drag to cosplay! Jack Baziuk, local malfeasant and ne'er-do-well, well known for his excessive abuse of the criminal narcotic known simply as Kaff-Een, hopes he will redeem his public image with his participation in ACC Drama's production of Reefer Madness! You may have recently seen him singing on stage at Mozart's with Austin Musical Theater Collective, assisting on all sides with The Filigree Theater, or maybe even in a seat next to you, enjoying all of the lovely theater Austin has to offer. He would like to thank the whole of the creative team for the opportunity and his friends in the local community for the support, with a special shout-out to my out-of-State friends and family who I am sure would have a more interesting watch had I performed in their states

Leah graduated with her B.A. in Musical Theatre from Point Park University in 2012. She moved to New York City where she originated the role of Phyllis in the Off-Off Broadway production of Date Me, Do Me, Dump Me. In 2019, she enlisted in the United States Air Force Bands as a vocalist- a personal highlight was singing the National Anthem in uniform at The World Series. Since leaving the military in 2023, she and her family have been traveling the United States as digital nomads-giving her the unique opportunity to practice her craft in over a dozen states. Nick is deliriously excited to ignite the madness as Ralph—lighting up laughs one puff, one gasp, and one jazz hand at a time in his ACC debut! Previously, he’s blazed through the Georgetown Palace Theatre, where he created a few hits in Beautiful, dodged doom in Disaster!, wreaked glorious havoc in The Play That Goes Wrong, spiced up Our Lady of the Tortilla, and stole hearts (and a few brains) as Igor in Young Frankenstein at the Bastrop Opera House. He sends a Texas‑sized hug (with extra glitter) to his family and pups back home in the Rio Grande Valley—puro 956, baby!

Kelsey Mazak is stoked to be on the ACC stage for the first time! Kelsey is a graduate of SMU's BFA Acting program and has been acting throughout the Austin area for the past 12 years. Recent credits include Dusty in POTUS (Jarrott Productions), Jenna in the world premiere of Jenna and the Whale (Ground Floor Theatre), Betty in The Gulf (Street Corner Arts), Ellie in Heartbreak House (Different Stages), and Sevenly in Butcher of Baraboo (Street Corner Arts). Thanks to Jamie and Adam for their support in dusting the cobwebs off my musical theatre abilities. And to Cole--I love you more than I can put into words.

Pablo Boyd is thrilled to be in his first full length musical, and a fun raunchy one nonetheless! He has been acting on stage since a very young age, mostly branching out in high school with roles like Carthage Kilbride in By the Bog of Cats (Anderson High School), Derek in Ripcord (Anderson High School), Edward Tulane in The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (Anderson High School), Justin Finch in Puffs (Anderson High School), and most recently Damian in Mean Girls Jr. (Anderson High School). I am excited to be working with Jamie outside of a classroom, and can’t wait to show everyone a brand new side of my on stage talents!

Minsoo Han is a UT Theatre Arts student who is excited to be part of this amazing cast! He has had the honor to play characters like Peter in Hearts like Fist (ACC), D'arc in Vernal Roost (Tubu Fest), and Emmett Forest in Legally Blonde (Westwood Highschool). He would like to thank all his friends and family for always supporting him in his dreams.

Maximillian McGuire is an Austin based actor. He's done multiple shows with Summer Stock Austin including Grease! (Sonny), Jesus Christ Superstar (Apostle), and Guys and Dolls (Ensemble). He was also Dance Captain in River City Pops' Kaleidoscope. He would like to thank his friends and family for supporting him in following his dreams!

Taryn Pearson is excited to embrace the ACC Blackbox stage as Ensemble for Reefer madness. This is her first show at ACC as a freshman in College. She is studying Musical theatre and has done shows like Hadestown (Persephone), Cinderella (Charlotte), Arsenic and old lace (Einstein), Big love (Bella), Macbeth (Malcolm), and more working with many different theaters. She was proud to have gotten awards for playing Bella in Highschool which inspired her to learn more in college. She has a variety of different dance backgrounds, unless it has to do with any type of cartwheel, and if her parents are watching in the audience brace yourself…

Jamie Rogers holds an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School and an MFA in Arts Administration from Texas Tech University. He has worked as an actor and teacher in New York City, Los Angeles, and in various cities across the country. Recent Directing credits at ACC Drama were the Spring 25 production of The Long Christmas Ride Home, (nominated for 4 B Iden Payne Awards), Fall 24 production of Bat Boy The Musical (nominated for 7 B Iden Payne Awards),Spring 23 production of The Snow (nominated for 8 B Iden Payne Awards, including Production of Theatre for Young Audiences & Outstanding Direction of Theater for Young Audiences) & the Fall 21 production of Lonely Planet (nominated for 4 B Iden Payne Awards, including Outstanding Production of Digital Theatre & Outstanding Direction of Digital Theatre). Jamie will next be directing Jesus Christ Superstar at the Georgetown Palace Theater later this spring. Jamie is an Associate Professor of Drama at Austin Community College.

Sanchita Sharma is a New Delhi-born, Austin-based performing artist, choreographer, and dance scholar with a PhD in Culture and Performance from UCLA. Sharma is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dance at Austin Community College and serves as the Chair for the Dance Studies Association’s working group “Practice-as-Research.” As a global dance professional, she has performed in the most prominent dance centers in the world including New York, Los Angeles, Edinburgh, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Beijing, and Singapore. Her dances have been presented at Keshet Center for the Arts, ARCOS Presents Long-Form, Austin Dance Festival, Preheat Film Festival, Small Plates Choreography Festival, Dance Carousel, Seoul International Short Film Festival, Munich New Wave Short Film Festival, Gati Dance Forum, and Maya Dance Theatre, among others. Her scholarly research focuses on the politics of corporeal dissent in Indian contemporary dance and has been published in Dance Research Journal, South Asian Dance Intersections, and Choreographic Practices (forthcoming).

Lindsey is stoked to be a part of this production! After getting her theatrical debut with ACC in 2017, she transferred and graduated with a degree in stage management from The University of Texas. Her recent stage management credits include Ground Floor Theatre's Sanctuary City, ACC’s The Long Christmas Ride Home, and Color Arc Production's Wanna Play. She would like to thank her family and friends for their support, Ryan for being a constant source of stability and love, Matit for being Matit, and ACC Drama for always feeling like home.

Travis Bartlett is a technical theater student and Austin Community College. Travis previously worked on the run crew for Bat Boy which was his first experience with theater outside of high school and was asked to come on board to design props for ACC's Red and had designed props for another ACC production, Appeal. This will be his first time working as an Assistant Stage Manager! Travis also works at Zach Theater on occasion as an overhire. In his spare time he enjoys making music and anything to do with audio production.

Hello, my name is Oliver and I am one of the two ASMs for Reefer Madness! I am a technical theatre major at ACC with a focus on props and stage management! This is my second show with ACC but first time ASMing. This show so far has been a blast and I am so excited for this shows run! I would like to thank all of my past and present professors for their support and encouragement, and I would like to specifically thank Mr. Trevino and Mr. Hobby for pushing me to pursue theatre. Andy Grapko (Intimacy Director) is a certified Intimacy Coordinator (Intimacy Directors and Coordinators), a SAG-AFTRA member, and the Resident Intimacy Director for the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin, where she teaches in the acting area. Her work has been seen on Hulu, Netflix, and the CW with upcoming shows on Paramount and Apple TV+; recent theatre credits include Murder on the Orient Express and Waitress (Zach), Parade, Falsettos, and Amy and the Orphans, (Ground Floor), Proof and In the Heights (Georgetown Palace Theatre), Collective Rage (Texas State), and Cabaret (UT, Austin). www.andygrapko.com

Andrew Heinrich (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Drama at ACC. As a fight choreographer, Andrew has designed violence for the San Antonio Opera, the Magik Theatre, St. Philip's College, the Baron's Men, among many others. He has also taught stage combat at Our Lady of the Lake University and Texas State University. Andrew holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing and a BFA in Theatre from Texas State University. Andrew's work in the theatre also includes playwriting, dramaturgy, directing, and acting.

Rachel is a multi-disciplinary collaborative artist with a particular focus on designing theater for young audiences, immersive theater design, and design for devised theater. She is a faculty and staff member at Austin Community College. Rachel holds an MFA in Theatre Design from The University of Texas at Austin.

Lilliana Castillo (Assistant Set Designer) is a student at Austin Community College studying scenic design with a focus on scenic construction. This is her first ACC production, working on Reefer Madness. She has previous backstage experience from middle and high school, assisting with props, set pieces, and scene changes for productions including Legally Blonde, The Addams Family, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors, and Dracula. Lilliana has loved seeing the design come to life and is excited to continue growing through the process. She would like to thank her mentor Rachel for her guidance and support, and her mom for patiently listening to countless design ideas and research presentations over the years

Ariana Melendez (Assistant Costume Designer) is a student at Austin Community College. She is currently getting her Associates in Applied Science for Technical Theater: Makeup Artistry and Costume Technology. This is her first time being a part of a production as a designer. She has previously been in two productions here at ACC as an actress playing Miranda in Fiends Folio and Sally in Hearts like Fists. She would like to thank her family, friends and her dog Daisy for their endless support and to ACC theater for always being welcoming and inspiring.

Channing Schreyer (Lighting Designer) is a faculty and staff member at Austin Community College and is grateful to be a member of both the Dance and Drama departments. Channing received their BA in Production Design and Studio Art from Pepperdine University and is an ACC alumnus. Recent Lighting Designs include The Long Christmas Ride Home, Bat Boy The Musical (B Iden Payne Award nominee), The Snow, Iphigenia at Aulis, and has designed all of the ACC Dance Department’s performances since 2020.

Arissa is very happy to have her first role in an ACC production! Her last role was as a lighting designer in “The Bookstore” with the Lehman Sunmer Show in 2023, so she’s excited to be back in the tech world with Reefer Madness. Arissa would like to thank her mom for taking the time out of her to drive her to every rehearsal.

Marcela is excited to take part in this year's ACCs Drama production: Reefer Madness. Her recent credits include several prior ACC productions; all while completing her Associates Degree at the Highland Campus. A great deal of experience was obtained through the shows: Bat Boy (2023), Curtain Fall (2023), Red (2024), Fiend’s Folio (2024). Although currently being the ALD, she has gained large amounts of Stage Hand experience. From hanging lights, running cable, set painting, Live quick changes, executing ground plans, and more. This young lady takes great pride in every learning opportunity handed to her. Much thanks and appreciation goes out to her mentor Channing Schreyer, for all the amazing knowledge she has passed on. Marcela continues to look forward to taking on new and exciting challenges in the drama field.

Chuck Medlin is an accomplished live sound engineer, having managed audio for over 10,000 performances. Currently serving as a Professor of Live Sound and Sound System Optimization in the Audio Technology and Industry Program at Austin Community College, Chuck holds an Associate of Science in Commercial Music Management from ACC and a Bachelor of Science in Audio Production from The Art Institute. Chuck remains actively involved in the local music scene—engineering at local venues and producing ACC’s Flex Factory, where he trains students in a range of professional audio engineering roles. Bringing extensive technical expertise and a passion for excellence, Chuck is thrilled to make their debut in theatrical sound design for this production.

Liam Burritt is a student in the drama department at ACC with interests in props fabrication, costume design/ building, set construction, and general stage craft! He began his journey in production with personal Cosplay projects that grew from a hobby to contest winning works! He has previously worked on projects for ZACH Theatre North Campus and is very excited for the opportunity to design and work Props for his very first show at ACC! He wants to thank all those who helped and supported him through this process and is excited for a crazy show!

Keelan Moses is a multimedia artist specializing in costume and makeup design for theatre and live performance. Their work spans educational theatre, independent film, and burlesque, with a focus on character driven storytelling, collaboration, and bold visual expression that enhances narrative and audience connection.

Jude Jecker (Hair and Wigs Designer) is thrilled to be joining the Reefer Madness crew! Partaking in acting since they were young, they are currently expanding their experience within technical elements while at ACC to hone her skills as a fully-rounded artist. Previous roles of hers include The Creature in Playing with Fire: A Frankenstein Continuation, Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde, and their Heller Award nominated role as Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone. She currently is a work student student with ACC Drama, a company member of The Paramount Theatre’s Story Wranglers, and the Program Director of the nonprofit organization Girls Rock Austin, dedicated to empowering girls, gender-expansive, and BIPOC youth ages 8-17 through music and mentorship. She would like to thank herself as follows: girl, you've done it again- constantly raising the bar, and doing so flawlessly... I’d say I'm surprised, but I’ve seen it up close and personal.

Olivia (Fern) Hadzi-Pavlovic (Wardrobe Head) is a student studying makeup and costume design for theater. This is their first ACC production. They have worked with local theaters and high schools for other shows and even taught a makeup camp for young actors and actresses! Olivia is thrilled to be part of this show and is deeply grateful to the incredible cast and crew!

Christina Montgomery (Costume Shop Head) is a costume designer and technician with over 15 years of professional theatre experience. She holds a BFA in Technical Theatre, Theatre Design, and Technology from the University of Kansas. Christina currently serves as Costume Shop Manager and Adjunct Faculty at Austin Community College. She previously worked as Wardrobe Supervisor at Zach Theatre in Austin and has collaborated with Kansas City Ballet, Broadway Across America, and the Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 810. Her recent design credits include Waitress (Zach Theatre), Appeal and The Snow (Austin Community College), and A Year with Frog and Toad (Zach Theatre, B. Iden Payne Award nomination). She would like to thank her colleagues and students for their continued collaboration and support.

A recent ACC graduate with a Certificate in Costume Technology and Makeup Artistry, Deya’s primary job is costume construction and alterations. They love helping realise the designer’s vision, as well as working backstage with wardrobe crew. They’ve worked as a costume shop assistant for most ACC productions since 2016, and even helped ASM for Frontera Fest and ScriptWorks shows outside of ACC since 2022.

Reese is very excited to be apart of this show. He has been a technician for five years and would like to thank my professors for this wonderful opportunity.

Monroe Oxley, a native Texan with a Master's degree in Theatre from Texas A&M Commerce, boasts over 15 years of experience as a Technical Director and scenic designer. In addition to his extensive professional background, Monroe has been imparting his knowledge for over 14 years as an educator. Currently serving as the Scene Shop Manager and Technical Director for Austin Community College Highland.

Tess is a student completing their AAS in Technical Theatre- with a specialization in Scenic Construction, Lighting, and Media Technologies- and is so thrilled to be working on their first production! Tess would like to give the biggest thanks to their mom for always supporting all the endeavors and changes through life as well as the ACC Drama Department for being so welcoming and such an exciting team to be a part of.

Marcus is a faculty member in the Drama Department at ACC where he teaches Voice, Acting, and Introduction to Theater. He would like to thank the cast & production team for their work on this production.
