The fascinating true story of Sholem Asch's controversial play, The God of Vengeance, and the artists who risked everything to bring it to the stage.
Indecent follows the journey of a small theatre company as they tell us the story of Asch’s play from its origins in Poland 1907. The play achieved great success on the stages of Europe and in the Yiddish theatre scene of downtown New York City. But when an English-translation was attempted on Broadway, it proved too scandalous for the general public, and the entire cast was arrested and charged with obscenity.
Indecent at the Austin Playhouse is the kind of play that makes you fall in love with theater all over again. Run to see a masterpiece that is staged to perfection and tells a story that is emotional, meaningful, and a ton of fun!
Austin Playhouse has announced the cast for the Austin premiere of Indecent by Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel and directed by Lara Toner Haddock. See who is starring and how to purchase tickets!

In TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS, a woman sits on a couch typing away advice to strangers she will never meet in person. The three strangers that invite themselves into her living room represent an array of characters that write anonymous letters to Dear Sugar. The play masterfully connects them all through an insightful reflection of the meaning of love, life, and happiness, rooted in personal experiences, empathy, and compassion for one another.
