A Strange Loop is a co-production between Deaf Austin Theatre and Visionaries of the Creative Arts, presenting Michael R. Jackson's Tony Award-winning musical. The production will feature a diverse cast of Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing artists performing in American Sign Language and spoken English. Directed by Alexandria Wailes, the musical explores the journey of Usher, a Black queer man writing a musical about his own life, delving into themes of identity and self-perception. This collaboration marks a significant moment in theater by highlighting the talents of Black Deaf individuals.
