Hairspray, The Broadway Musical, opened on Broadway in 2002 and won eight Tony Awards out of thirteen nominations that year! Hairspray sweeps us away to 1960’s Baltimore where change is in the air when teenage Tracy Turnblad wins a spot on a TV dance show. She becomes an overnight celebrity and launches a campaign to integrate the show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair.
