Southeastern Regional Premiere!

This critically acclaimed Off-Broadway musical is a "rags to riches" tale of three young men just off the bus from their hit-record producing hometowns - Philly, Memphis and Detroit - as they meet at the worl famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem. 

The score is a tantalizing homage to the 3-man R&B groups of the '60's and '70's and features twenty -four Rhythm and Blues classic soul songs made popular by artists such as James Brown, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson and more! 

*NB  All Playhouse productions are currently being performed in the Mandell Theater at the Orlando Shakes Theatre Complex 812 East Rollins Street Orlando FL 32803 while The Playhouse's Winter Park location is under renovation. .

Quentin Avery Brown*
Detroit
Quentin Avery Brown (Detroit) is thrilled to be making his Winter Park Playhouse debut in From My Hometown. Locally, you may have seen him in Ain’t Misbehavin’ at the Orlando Shakes, Men of Motown at Titusville Playhouse, Surf Holiday and Oh Wondrous Night at Seaworld Orlando or in Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond and Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. He’s also performed at regionally around the country at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, Alhambra Dinner Theatre, Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre, Starlight Theatre, Legacy Theatre, Six Flags Over Georgia, to name a few. He traveled around the country as a backup singer for Remember When Rock Was Young: a tribute to Elton John in 2018 and 2019. If you’re looking for something to watch on tv, you can find him dancing in Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square and A Jazzman’s Blues by Tyler Perry on Netflix as well as Season 2, Episode 4 of Severance on Apple TV. Adourin Jamelle Owens
Philly
Adourin Jamelle Owens (Philly) is thrilled to be back at The Winter Park Playhouse, stepping into the role of Philly in From My Hometown! A proud Sanford, FL native, Adourin has been lighting up stages all over, with recent performances including Jinx in Forever Plaid, Scot in Route 66, and Little Moe in Five Guys Named Moe (Winter Park Playhouse 2024 & 2025) reprised Little Moe (Westcoast Black Theater Troupe 2025), P.Nokio in P.Nokio: A Hip Hop Musical(Orlando Family Stage), Lucas in Stranger Sings: The Musical (Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center), Cricket in Giraffes Can’t Dance (Orlando Family Stage), Reinfield in Dracula(Opera Del Sol & CityArts), Doody in Grease (The Ritz). Beyond the theater, Adourin’s talents shine in The Freedom Project: Influential African-American Floridians, Otown Motown (Entertainment Central), The Finesse Party Band (David Martin), The Elements, Fortune Squad, and Florida Inspirational Gospel Singers (John Polk). He’s even provided BGVS for legendary artists like Jennifer Holliday and Grammy-nominated Ayiesha Woods(LifeFest Wisconsin & Georgia) His hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed—he was featured in Orlando Sentinel’s Theater Best of 2024 as a Featured Actor (Five Guys Named Moe) and Leading Actor (P.Nokio).
James White lll*
Memphis
James White III (Memphis) is excited to make his Winter Park Playhouse debut as Memphis in this production of From My Hometown. James is a Florida Native based in West Palm Beach. He has earned both a BM in Vocal Performance and Commercial Music Business from Florida Atlantic University. His other credits include Curtis: Dreamgirls, Benny: In the Heights, Marius: Les Miserable, Mingo: Porgy & Bess, Mitch Mahoney: Spelling Bee, Eddie Souther: Sister Act, Sabastian: The little Mermaid, Tony: West Side Story, Joshua: Grace the Musical and Wilber Wright: Kitty Hawk. He is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and the American Guild of Music Arts. He would like to thank his family and friends for their love and support.
Jacob Eaddy
U/S Detroit
Jacob Eaddy (Detroit Understudy) is an industry professional in the world of entertainment with over a decade and a half of experience as a director, producer, and instructor of the performing arts along with over two decades as a performer in various disciplines including, singing, dancing, acting, and even puppetry. He has brought all of these experiences together to help create 4 academic arts programs for various schools and churches, 1 homeschool performing arts co-op, and 2 entertainment companies.He has a BA in Legal Studies: Entertainment Law from The University of Central Florida and is a certified Drama teacher with the state of Florida.
Doriyan Caty
U/S Philly
Doriyan Caty (Philly Understudy) (he/him) is thrilled to be working with the Winter Park Playhouse for the first time. A South Florida native, he holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida Atlantic University. Recent credits include Donkey in Shrek the Musical at Actors’ Playhouse, Indio in West Side Story with the Gulf Coast Symphony, and Mr. Lamb Chop in Flat Stanley at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Doriyan recently completed The Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular at Universal Studios and is excited for the many opportunities Orlando has to offer.
Kerry Alce
U/S Memphis
Kerry Alce (Memphis Understudy) is an artist and performer from Orlando Florida. With his bachelors in fine arts degree from UCF, He strives to earn a living by being a part of sharing and portraying stories and music for the sake of entertaining and educating captive audiences.
